BLANKET DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN INUYASHA
Kagome smiled as she stood and approached the well-house. She took a deep breath, flung open the doors to see the well bursting with the familiar blue light. Kagome let out a squeal of delight and jumped into the well without even thinking.
The waters of time swallowed her whole as she drifted and set down at the bottom of the well once again. When she looked up, she saw the blue skies and smelled the fresh air that she had deeply missed. What surprised her however was that she heard someone crying. It sounded like a little boy. Kagome leaped out of the well in one shot and landed in front of the person. To her surprise, it was Shippo, just slightly bigger than she had remembered him being.
“Shippo, why are you crying?”
Shippo looked up through his tears to the beautiful demoness in front of him. How did she know his name? Why hadn’t he sensed her coming. Her aura was flowing freely around her, but it wasn’t quite demonic, it was pure. Then he paid more attention to it. His eyes widened as he realized who stood in front of him. Sure, there was some demonic aura to her now, but not much. It was his mama. Kagome.
“Mama!”
Kagome giggled as he realized who she was. She thought his first clue should have been her clothes. She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt along with a pair of sneakers. “Let’s go to the village and say hello to everyone.”
Shippo nodded his head yes and they descended down the hill and into the village. Kikyo was the first to spot them, but having sensed the aura when she had first arrived, she had known who it was, what floored her was Kagome’s appearance. Inuyasha appeared next to her with the Tessaiga drawn, but once he saw the clothing, he too knew who it was, and his mouth dropped. Miroku and Sango came up next to their friends to see what was going on and Sango felt tears prick her eyes. Her sister had returned.
On the other side of Inuyasha’s forest, Sesshomaru was patrolling and had felt the immense power come from nowhere. Knowing it could only be one person, he set off in the direction of the village.
Kagome gave a fanged grin at her friends that she had missed dearly. None of them had really changed much in the five years that she had been gone. Except for the cries of mommy and daddy that came from Sango and Miroku’s children. Kagome could only give wistful smiles at the children. When she looked over at Kikyo she realized that she was heavily pregnant. It would not be long until they too had children. Kagome was glad that her friends had found their own happiness.
Kagome took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. “So how have you all been?”
Sango couldn’t hold her tears back anymore as she launched herself at Kagome. Kagome easily caught her. “I’ve missed you so much, sister.”
Miroku nodded his head in agreement with his wife. “We have all missed you deeply, Lady Kagome. I do have a question for you however.”
Kagome knew what was coming next and she was prepared for it now. She had been surprised by it herself when she had been returned to her time like this. It was an adjustment she had learned to live with and she had found a teacher and mastered all her new powers so that when the time came, she could return and be able to effectively protect herself. She nodded at Miroku to go ahead and ask his question.
“How is it that you are a full-blooded demoness when you used to be human?”
Kagome sighed as she let go of Sango as she put some distance between herself and the others. She looked up to the sky. “I was returned to my time in this form. I was confused at first. I ran into my home and straight to my mom. The shocking part to me was that she was not surprised to see me as I am. She simply smiled and told me that I had finally had my awakening. While my mother is very much human, it turns out that my birth father is not. Souta and I have different fathers. My father as it turns out, like me is able to traverse through time. He had a fling with my mother. When he found out that she was pregnant, he had her take a potion. It would make it to where I was human until I had reached a mental maturity which would trigger my awakening into a full-blooded demoness. My father, though I know not his name, is actually from this time. I am what is known as a night star inu.”
Kagome closed her eyes and looked away from the sky and opened them to look at each one of her friends in turn. Miroku nodded his head again in contemplation. Kagome smiled. “In addition, the only thing I have in which to find him is the mark on my forehead.” Kagome showed them all a four-pointed star. They all felt a very powerful flare of yokai afterwards. Seems there was one more person that wished to see her. Kagome excused herself as she turned back to the forest where she had felt Sesshomaru’s aura flare.
Kagome slowly made her way to where he was standing. He wasn’t facing her. “Hello, Lord Sesshomaru. How have you been?”
Sesshomaru turned around to address her but stopped short when he saw that she was no longer human. Kagome gave him a soft smile; she knew it must be a shock to his system. He noticed the two small blue stripes on each cheek and wrist, and the four-pointed star on her forehead claiming her to be the heir of the north. “This Sesshomaru demands an explanation.”
Kagome nodded her head and told him what she had just finished telling the rest of her friends.
