Here in the Now
Soft golden rays from the morning sun began to break over the dark mountains to slowly creep across white sheets; silver hair glinted honey-kissed and ebony locks shimmered copper...black pouring across white...white spilling across black.
Lover against lover, skin upon skin - deep masculine growls echo against soft feminine sighs...angled muscles sliding against soft curves -
- this -
this place - here in the thin space between light and dark, between demon and human, between him and her - there was no room for thoughts of swords, of death, of the past, of the future -
- it was only the now - with her eager tongue sliding against his own, supple flesh ghosting against his chest, the heady slickness that gathered for him -
here in the now -
nothing else mattered -
The world fell into balance in the clash of yin and yang, black and white, swirling and circling...round and round in the dance between lovers and enemies, between foes and allies, between male and female...
here in the now -
nothing else mattered -
Sesshoumaru groaned...Kagome whimpered...and he closed his eyes and gently pressed his lips to her forehead; delicate breaths ghosted along tender ears; soft hair tickled; skin slid across satin; fingers intertwined with fingers...
here in the now -
He was the moon - cold and shifting and changing - unable to make light of his own, never knowing the peaks and valleys of his own dark soul until that one fateful day...a single ray of sunshine rose over dark mountains and broke through thunderous clouds, offering a blind man a glimpse of heaven...
here in the now -
nothing else mattered -
Kagome was the sun - bright and shining and constant - never aware of the darkness she chased away - burning away the anger and loathing of centuries with a smile, burning away all he had known, and all he had been.
before the now -
everything had mattered -
here in the now -
only she mattered.
Porcelain skin flushed deep as sweat began to build...the morning sun streamed through the window as bodies writhed in the darkness of covers...hips ground deep; legs held on tight; and toes began to curl -
here in the now -
this -
Teeth sunk into flesh and magenta markings flashed ragged - Sesshoumaru whimpered...and Kagome groaned...tighter and higher and closer and harder and tighter -
this -
This moment between them was worth the shattered reputation, was worth the endless battles, was worth the low snickers of laughter, was worth any fight - and was better than he could have ever dreamed...
now -
Claws gently traced along sweat-slicked skin; racing hearts slowed; tiny aftershocks sparked -
here in the now -
The golden sun of the East had fallen through a rift of time, casting her light to the dark moon of the West - cold and lonely - always so lonely -
but here in the now -
nothing else mattered -
except her and him -
nothing else mattered -
except them.
