So there is a story about the nursery rhyme Ring Around the Rosie. I was surprised to find out that very few of the people I asked knew about it. So I will say this is based more on the history of the tale then the happiness of the modern age rhyme.

Flower Wreath
“Kagome what are you doing?” Sango asked.
The miko looked up from her spot by the Tree of Ages. Her blue orbs took in the slayer for only a few seconds before turning her attention to the stone in front of her. She looked down at the incomplete work in her hands.
“I don’t know. It just seems important.”
“How so?”
“She loved flowers. She loved them almost more than anything,” Kagome whispered.
“You can do that later,” her friend told her, “Kaede wants you to come and eat.”
“I’ll be there a little later.”
Sango lingered, worried for her friend, but left a short time later. Kagome picked up another flower beside her and added it ring of flowers in her lap. She continued to work on her wreath, ignoring all that went on around her.
“Miko,” a voice interrupted, “what are you doing here?”
“I can’t leave her here alone. She doesn’t like being alone. I can’t let her get scared. I promised I wouldn’t let anything happen to her.”
Sesshomaru was silent for a moment; he had come with the intention of destroying the miko. He had come to her for help and she killed his ward. Yet it seemed that the miko was taking the death of Rin harder than he was.
“We all die; it is not determined by you when someone is returned to the spiritual world.”
Kagome looked up at the inu standing behind her. Her eyes were red with the tears she had shed over the past hours. “How can you not blame me? You’re supposed to hate me! I didn’t save her! I couldn’t help… she just…” her voice failed her and she turned away to cry yet again.
Sesshomaru concluded that he would not give up the last link he had with his ward. The woman was the one Rin had been attached to. Rather than let her slip away, the inu bent over, cradled the woman in his arms, and took to the sky, heading to the west where his castle laid.
In the time to come the miko would get over her grief, depending on him, so that he too could learn to live without the human that had become his enigma.
