Disclaimer: Inuyasha is not mine. Nope, no extra money in my wallet. Damn it.
Note: This is in response to Saholia’s Blood Challenge. In this, Sesshomaru is a vampire and Kagome is his target.
Blood Moon
It was a full moon tonight and Kagome was on the run from a small gang of thieves who were trying to rob her. She was clutching her purse tightly as she ran. She looked for the best direction to run in order for her to get away from them.
Kagome turned in another direction and continued to run. She knew they weren’t far behind. ‘Damn it, where do I go now? I have to get home. But those bastards aren’t too far behind. Why did they choose me of people?’
She continued to run until she took a wrong turn and ended up in an alley. The gang leader turned and noticed Kagome. “Well, well, well, look what we have here. The little mouse ends up in a dead-end. She can’t escape this time. So, little mouse, are you gonna give up the purse or do we have to take it from you?”
Kagome backed up until her back was against the wall. ‘If you can hear me, Kami, help me get out of this. Someone help me please.’
Several feet underneath, a powerfully built figure lay motionless in repose, the Lord of the Vampires. It was the night of the Blood Moon, the night where this figure would rise to wreak havoc on those who stood in the way. Little did he know that there was trouble just above. All he needed was a little blood to awaken him. Yes, there would be blood spilt tonight. Of that he was certain.
Meanwhile, Kagome was struggling to hold onto her purse. She knew she didn’t stand as there were too many for her to handle. She clawed, kicked, and threw punches. Kagome managed to catch a few of them off guard, but the leader had a knife and stabbed her in the side, causing her to bleed profusely and fall to her knees, one hand trying to stem the blood flow while the other had a death grip on her purse. There was no way in hell those thugs were getting her purse. But was it worth her life? She wasn’t sure. Her vision started to fade in and out as she lay dying. Was there no one around to help her?
It was all it took for the Lord of the Vampires to rise from his slumber as blood started to seep from above. His eyes glinted a blood red. His aura started to flare up. It had been centuries since he tasted such delicious blood. It was time for him to make his appearance.
The thieves slowly approached a prone Kagome, hoping that she was dead as they made their way towards her purse. Suddenly, the ground started to shake as if there was an earthquake. They backed away as a crack formed in front of their victim’s body. The crack widened and opened as a tall powerfully built figure emerged, floating in mid-air. Its eyes were glowing a bright red. Fangs were glinting in the moonlight.
The figure soon landed on the ground. The thieves froze in terror as the figure approached them. Little did they know that the figure was Sesshomaru, Lord of the Vampires. They started to back away from him. The thieves had a feeling that this wouldn’t end well for them. One of them turned and ran.
Sesshomaru noticed this and smirked and in a flash was on the one who fled. He appeared in front of the coward who shook in terror. The Vampire Lord lifted him by the neck. He then drove his fangs into the thief’s throat, sucking his blood. The thief started to scream in pain, trying to push him off. Trying to push Sesshomaru was like trying to move a large heavy stone.
It wasn’t long before the thief’s struggles ceased as he was sucked dry. Sesshomaru then returned to the alleyway and finished off the rest of the gang in the same fashion. However, he wasn’t completely sated. Kagome watched in horror as this new character drained the thieves of their blood and turned the bodies into ash. She knew she couldn’t go anywhere with the wound to her torso and the loss of blood.
The Vampire Lord stalked over to where Kagome lay, blood continuing to seep from her wound. She watched as it approached her, knelt down and turned her onto her back. Kagome struggled to get a good look at the face. In the dim light, she could make out glowing amber eyes, sculpted cheeks each adorned with a pair of stripes. Kagome can also make out a crescent moon on his forehead. Sesshomaru then bent down to lick the blood where she had been stabbed. The wound quickly closed up. This woman was the source of such delicious blood; the blood of a virgin miko.
She felt herself being carried bridal style before losing consciousness. What was he? Why did he lick her wound? And where was he taking her? Wherever it was, it couldn’t be good.
Sesshomaru looked down at the woman in his arms. He could see she was quite a beauty with flowing dark hair and mesmerizing blue eyes. She had so much power that lay dormant within her. Yes, he had come to a decision. This miko would be his Queen; his Vampire Lady. However, there would be plenty of time for that. Right now, he had return to his palace and reclaim his place as Vampire Lord. He could not wait.
Somewhere else in the city, a powerfully built figure knelt over another figure. From afar, it would look like it was holding the other figure in a tender moment. But the kneeling figure had its fangs in the other’s neck, draining it dry. It had stood up, dropping the drained body onto the ground, burning the body. Suddenly, a surge of power coursed through its body. It smiled, fangs gleaming in the moonlight.
“At last, he’s awakened to reclaim his place on the throne. Welcome home…brother.”
Well, that’s it for now. I am going to make a sequel for this. So many ideas are popping into my head concerning this one. Sorry if it’s short. Later. ^_^
