Kagome's Rage

She stormed through the halls, her tan sandals stomping furiously against the marble floor. Blue-gray eyes sparked with fury as sharp zaps of her aura thrashed wildly around her. Her flowing pale blue gown trailed behind her, giving the affect of a glowing and flowing, very mad priestess.

She growled and turned a sharp corner, heading to a designated place to unleash her inner demon. The gaurds stared, but not baffled, as this had happened a multitude of times. The Lady of the West was known for her...bursting personality.

The young miko spotted a large set of doors, and with persistence,  she was there as quickly as she could without tumbling over something or tripping which was something she usually did when she walked too fast. The guards at the door quickly stepped to the side before she could run them down...or worse... get the Lord of the West.

Kagome pushed open the door and strode in like a mad women, her eyes glaring passionately at the boy lying on the bed, looking as if he hadn't heard his mother come in as he continued to  pick at his claws distractedly.

Hisoka tried to steady his heartbeat, not liking what was coming next.

Kagome crossed her arms and tapped her foot against the floor, waiting for her son to say something.

"...Yes?" he drawled, his golden eyes slowly making their way to his mothers face.

Kagome glared. "What do you mean, 'Yes?'" she imitated. "You have explaining to do!"

"Like what?" he asked, "I did nothing wrong."

What was left of Kagome's calm was almost gone. "You did nothing wrong..." she repeated. "You did nothing WRONG? You went prancing into enemy territories, just to see ONE girl, you get caught, almost beaten to death-" She growled in frustration. "You could have been killed! Sold! Raped-!"

Hisoka rolled his eyes and sighed. "Mother, you know I can't be-"

"I don't give a DAMN!" she screeched, causing Hisoka to jump and his eyes to widen. Uh oh. Cursing was always a good clue that she was angry.

"What did I say to you last night, Hisoka?" she demanded, her eyes a blazing blue.

Hisoka winced, smelling the salt of her angry tears threatening his nose.

"I'm sorry mother - just please, don't cry."

She did just that, her angry facade falling to a look of helplessness. "Y-you scared me back there, you know."

Hisoka mentally shook his head, wondering how she could change from angry to tears in only half a second.

His mother had every reason to worry about him, and it made him love her even more. It was true, he had gotten into a little trouble with going into the east's territory, and he hadn't even seen the girl he'd been thinking about for days. They had instantly caught him and he had ran, their spears at his back.

The news easily traveled to the west, and though it took him a few days travel to come back, his father had yet to do anything to him...Yet.

"Mother," he said, standing up fluidly despite the large wounds on his back, "What would you do in my situation? Would you stay in your room all day, thinking about the person you love, or would you find that person who haunts your thoughts, just to see them at least one more time?" He stared into her eyes, determination shining brightly.

Kagome stood, looking at her son. "Hisoka," she smiled. "I always knew you were in love," she whispered before she giggled, her fingers coming up to muffle her laughs. "Like father like son."

Hisoka's eyes widened. She had known already?

"I was in love, too you know," her eyes twinkled, "well, still am. I know how it feels. I can see him in you when he first started to pursue me. It's not always butterflies and meadows though, and I want you to be careful with that."

Hisoka sighed in relief, glad to have his mother smiling and to know she could relate. He walked over to her and hugged her, picked her up and spun her around. "You don't know how much that means to me."

Kagome smiled, then frowned. "I don't know how you're ever going to see her, Hisoka."

Her eyes brightened suddenly, and she let go of her son. "Never mind, I do."

"What?" he said, excitement clear in his voice.

"Can't tell you, it's a secret." She smiled.

Though Hisoka wanted to know, he'd let his mother play her little games. He rolled his eyes and smiled. "Alright mother, have your secrets."

"Okay," she agreed before chuckling. She stood on the tip of her toes and kissed Hisoka on the cheek before turning around to walk out the door.

"This girl better be worth it," His mom teased.

"She is," Hisoka sighed, his mind going back to the time he had first met her.

"Alright, I'll see what I can do," she called as she left, "Oh, I told your dad not to punish you, but if he does, tell me alright? I'll punish him in my own way," she winked.  the double doors opening as she walked towards him.

"Ew." Hisoka muttered, watching as his mother left his chambers.

The guards looked at the serene priestess with confusion. She had only been in there but five minutes! How her emotions could change within a blink of an eye!

They watched her hum down the halls, her destination probably being the garden the Lord had made for her. The guards shook their heads in amazement. She was one heck of a queen.

Hisoka stood where he was, waiting. By now his mother was long gone.

He didn't see it coming - the sharp pain across his face as he was backhanded by his father. Hisoka fell and spit the blood onto the floor, never looking up into his fathers eyes.

"You have upset the Lady of the West," he announced to his son, the first words spoken to him since he had arrived back home.

"Let it be known that all who do will be punished."

Hisoka nodded and stood, waiting for his punishment.

"Hn," his father acknowledged. "Very courageous," he readied his hand, green acid spilling over from his claws, "or pure stupidity."

After all was done and Hisoka lay in a warm puddle of his own blood, he'd have to say Kagome had been much more harsh with him, even though his dad had beat him to a bloody pulp. Kagome's anger was as believable as a demons rage, and struck him through the heart, while his dad only left blistering wounds that would eventually soon heal. If he had to pick, he'd say he'd rather have his dad beat him one hundred times over than hear his mother cry.

Masochistic? Maybe.

He chuckled and shook his head. No way.

With much difficulty, he got up and went to go clean up the mess he had caused.
