Just Another Manic Monday: Chapter 1
****
‘The kami’s must hate me I know it!’, thought the raven haired woman as she attempted to run down the sidewalk in heels while it was raining. ‘Yes, they do indeed hate me!’ Seeing the building she was running to just up ahead she pushed harder trying to get there quicker. Today was just not her day, first her alarm clock did not go off till 20 minutes till 9 and she had a very important meeting with the head of the company. Then no sooner then she steps out of her apartment building it starts pouring down rain! And there wasn’t even rain in the forecast for today because she watched the damn weather channel the night before! Instead of going back upstairs and getting an umbrella she just made a run for it. She prayed she didn’t look like a complete and total mess by the time she got to work but it was obliviously not going to happen. Her luck was bad and it was only going to get worse as the day progressed if she had to guess it correctly.
Much good it did her though if anything she got wet quicker than keeping dry. She almost fell a few times but she managed to catch herself before she hit the ground. People jumped out of her way along with their umbrellas as she made her way down the crowded sidewalk.
‘Finally! I’m here. Now to get this over and done with”, she thought just as she began to step away from the sidewalk only to have a bus drive by and hit a very large puddle of water. And you can guess where that splash of water went. On poor Kagome. Yep! Poor little Kagome can’t get a break to save her life!
Skirt soaked through lavender blouse transparent and hair a wet mess Kagome stood up straight with her chin held high and proceeded into the building ignoring the snickering of people on the sidewalk. Coming into the lobby of the building she was met with an immediate chill due to the air conditioner. Shivering slightly she quickly went towards the elevators right pass the welcoming desk into the already crammed elevator. Getting wedged somewhere between the side and some guy she craned her neck to see if anyone had pressed her floor number.
“Can someone press floor 15 please”, she asked politely as the person by the keys nodded and pushed the desired floor number.
“Thank you”, she replied and tried to get some what comfortable for the stopping and going of the elevator. The elevator at once began to ease its way up the 15 story building but it seemed that the elevator had to stop at every single floor.
Kagome looked at her watch and realized that she was now officially late for the meeting. Giving a slight curse Kagome quickly looked up when she heard what sounded like a laugh from the other side of the elevator. She also notice that it was only her and a male that was standing by the opposite elevator wall. Seeing her passenger she took a quick look at him before turning and staring at the lit numbers on the wall.
-chuckle-
Again Kagome turned and looked at her passenger only to realize that this time he was staring straight at her with a slight smirk on his face.
Wondering what was seriously wrong with this man she asked,”Is something wrong?”
The man in question only stared at her for a moment before turning his head and staring at the cellphone in his hand. Kagome just rolled her eyes when she heard the chuckle again.
“Ok, that is really getting annoying! I know I look a hot mess right now but its not my fault! The baka weatherman said it was suppose to be sunny today not a typhoon outside!”, she snapped as the man looked at her with his eyebrow raised. Kagome just huffed and then sighed when she heard the ding that signaled she was at her destination. Running out the elevator she quickly ran to the bathroom so she could be little more presentable. Quickly she fixed her hair and straighten out her blouse and skirt the best she could before walking out to the desk in front of the office.
An older woman looked up from the computer she was typing at when she heard Kagome approach the desk.
“Can I help you ma’am?”, the older woman asked while looking at Kagome curiously. Kagome just smiled before replying.
“Yes, ma’am I am here from the art department to met with Mr. Tashio. I have a 10 o’clock appointment with him.”, she replied as the older woman looked at her computer before looking back at Kagome.
“Yes, I see you have a appointment but you are twenty minutes later dear. I’m afraid that Mr. Tashio doesn’t like tardiness, I can see if he still wants to see you or if you need to make another appointment. Can you hold on a second please?”, the older woman replied picking up the phone.

Ringing inside the office was heard as a pale hand picked up the phone. He stared at the device with disdain before putting it to his ear.
“Speak”, a cold voice replied.
“Mr. Tashio sorry to bother you but your 10 o’clock is here would you like to see them or do you want them to make another appointment”?, his secretary asked he began to think.
“Who is it?”, he asked slightly curious because everyone knew he didn’t tolerate tardiness. So if they knew they would be late they usually just made another appointment.
“Her name is Kagome Hirgurashi and she’s from the art department sir”, his secretary replied.
‘I wonder if its the same woman from the elevator that snapped at me. Hmm....it would be very interesting if it was indeed her.’, he thought as he made up his mind.
“Yes, send them in.”, he replied before hanging the phone. A smirk could be seen on his face.

“Ms. Hirgurashi, Mr. Tashio will see you now.”, the secretary said as Kagome gave her a nod and headed for the office. She took a deep breath before she opened the door and walked in the office. Too busy looking at her feet she didn’t notice the smirk on the mans face nor did she see the gleam that flashed in his eyes.
Finally looking up Kagome came to a complete stop and stared in horror at the man in front of her. It was the man from the elevator! The very same man she had chewed out only a 20 minutes ago. This couldn’t be happening to her.
‘Dear kami just let him be a assistant or something’, she prayed but the joke was on her for he was indeed not the assistant but the head of the company.
She could only hope she came out of this with her job intact....
