I have read both chapters (read 2, then went back and read 1 again). I find that I disagree with the notion that Rin is stupid in the first chapter. She is exhibiting behaviors similar to what she perceives and understands as how Sesshoumaru does things. He "keeps" her, Jaken and Ah-Un, so she'd ask to keep Kagome.
She doesn't know that Kagome was freezing to death and the sleep was likely the middle stage of hypothermia. She's very much a child, and while brave, she's not foolhardy.
I think every writer here has exposure to either the manga or the anime, while they are different, either is enough to give you a good feel for the proper characterizations. And sometimes it's hard for an adult to write from a child's perspective :) too far removed.
Don't let the naysayers get you down, this is a good series!

ur story, thou cliche, would almost b great if only u hadn't made rin into a a a retarded child. again, how did u people come up w/ this dumb kid? the real rin from both the anime & manga was nothing like that. did u just follow the rest of these misinformed writers? have u & these others ever even watched the show or read the manga? gah! hopefully ur plot appears 2 b good so maybe u won't disappoint. ill try 2 read past this stupid rin -thou i like the real rin better; shes very intelligent & mature 4 her age, not 2 mention brave.
My opinion: This is FAN-written. Not only that, its FICTION, as in it isn't the COMPLETE same as the anime/manga. There is also new characters. How hard is it to understand "fanfiction"?!

Duh, those writers aren't misinformed. Their making their OWN story, and can change the characters' personalities in THEIR stories however they want. That includes RIN.

I LOVE this story and I can't wait for a third chapter.
As for the haters, I generally don't listen to people who don't have the decency use correct spelliing and grammar. It's an exclaimation mark at the end of their lack of intelligence and proper upbringing, and, really, giving them any kind of attention only encourages them. (IE: Don't feed the trolls. Heehee.)
