Venus meets Adonis
Venus and Adonis
I wanted this to be a oneshot considering it takes place in about a 24 hour period lol. So tell me what you think. Reviews are more than welcomed. This was for the Re-write a Classic Challenge. Hope you all like. I hope I didn’t ruin the original. Inuyasha isn't really mentioned but I wanted it to be known that he was Mars aka the God of War.

This is the story of Venus and Adonis, their names will remain the same:
Venus – Kagome
Adonis – Sesshoumaru
Mars - Inuyasha
The flowers in the field were of the most beautiful colors and stretched as far as the eye could see. The trees that surrounded were so tall they gave the illusion that they and the sky touched ever so slightly. The sun having just risen was showering the sky with hues and hints of pinks, purples, and oranges.
A gorgeous man resembling that of which matched his name prepared to partake in his favorite pastime, hunting. Adonis was loved and lusted by women and goddesses and hated and envied by men and gods alike. He had piercing golden eyes, a masculine jaw and the god like markings on his face only added to his sex appeal.
His eyes were hinted with shades of magenta on his eyelids, his cheeks were accented with two magenta strips and atop his brow sat a blue crescent moon. His body rivaled that of any god from his chiseled muscles on his chest to his broad back down to his calves. He made his way towards his faithful horse as a voice made him hesitate.
“I have to admit, you look at least three times better than I do,” out walked Venus from behind the bushes, being Adonis’ long time friend, had never felt the way she did until that one summer day. He mounted onto his steed when she spoke again.
“If I had to compare you to any flower in this field I would say you were even more red then that of a red rose. Why not join me I will make ten kisses seem as short as one and one as long as twenty. This summers day will seem as though as hour has passed as apposed to wasting the day doing something of some other sort.”
Venus being the goddess of love and fertility was a sight to see as well. Her dark raven hair with numerous curls and waves reached down her back to the tip of her hips, her all around curves drove many a man crazy with her ample breasts, small waist, long legs that seemed to go on forever, with her smile sealing the deal so to speak. Her eyes were of the oddest color, they resembled the night sky just after dusk, and with her skin being the smoothest creamiest he’d ever laid eyes upon.
Walking up to his steed she pulls him down by his arm and instead of falling face first to the earth he landed on his own two feet, no doubt the work of Venus. She leads him to an open area on the forest floor where she pushes him down to the ground, where she lays herself next to him and begins her seduction.
She lifts her hand to his face caressing his check earning a frown from him. Venus moves in closer to join their lips in a lovers kiss but misses when he turns his face away from her.
“Are you so boastful that you do not see how I do not wish to partake in this moment with you? I can say that I am ashamed to be in this sort of position with you.” Not heeding his words she continues forward and kisses his brow, both of his cheeks, his chin.
“Oh darn it Adonis, you cold hearted boy. All I ask for is a simple kiss, why are you toying with me? The god of war, he who conquers against all he challenges, has chased me. Yet I have him as my slave and my captive, he begged me for the simplest request that I ask of you.” When the feelings are not returned she begins to weep and he lowers his head onto her chest.
“If I were ugly and old I would understand why you would not want to kiss me. I’m gorgeous, I look not a day older than a young maiden ripe to bare children, even the frail flowers support my weight, and the doves that draw my chariot through the sky.” She pauses in her argument to sigh.
“Can’t you see that humans were destined to breed?” Still he makes not a sound or any attempt to agree or even disagree with her. “Argh, talking with you is as though I’m talking to a statue. You don’t move or react with anything that I am saying!” She turns her body away from him and looks off into the distance she watches the sun begin to set. With a heavy sigh she continues,
“I’ll be a park, and you will be my deer. Feed where you want, on a mountain or in a meadow. Graze on my lips, and if they were dry. Stray lower, where the pleasant fountains are. Within these bounds is relief enough for me. Sweet bottom-grass, a high delightful plain; round rising hills, caves obscure and rough so as to shelter you from the wind and rain. Then be my deer, since I am such a park.”
With a frustrated grunt he stands up to retrieve his mighty horse and continue his path to hunt. As he nears and grabs the reigns his horse sees a mare in heat and runs towards her to mate. Adonis knows that without a doubt it was Venus’ doing, just so he didn’t have any other way of escaping. He walks back to where he left her sitting and rejoins her on the ground. She turns to face him she kneels in front of him and while holding his hand she pleads with him using only her eyes.
Venus tried to make him see it her way and she what he was doing to her by denying her request. He responds by snatching his hand out of her grasp.
“Don’t touch me, why do you toy with me? Let me go. You’ve wasted my happiness in hunting, my horse is now gone and it’s your entire fault! I’m asking you to leave me alone. I don’t know love and never do I want to get the chance. Love is a wasted emotion, it doesn’t make you stronger, and in fact it makes you weaker. To love is to die. Don’t waste your time trying to make me fall in love with you for it is a wasted effort. Find someone else to flatter and use your sorcery with for I am not that foolish man to fall for such tricks. If I were blind all of the lies you’ve just told me would make me believe. If I were deaf your beauty alone would entrap me. But I am none of those things so I bid you my farewell.”
As he turned to walk away he hears her body hit the ground with a loud thump. Adonis looks to where she was standing moments before only to find her on the ground. He drops to his knees and pulls her upper body onto his lap. Lightly slapping her cheeks to help her wake up he finds that it does no good. He brings his lips down to meet hers as he lifts his head he sees her eyes flutter open.
“Did I die and go to heaven? Where am I? With such a powerful kiss I’m surprised I know my own name.” As he releases her to stand on his own she wraps her arms around his neck.
“With the moon shinning above, I will be leaving now. If you truly do love me then you will respect my wishes in not finding love. I know you don’t love me, you only wish to seek out your own pleasure and nothing more.” Using his own strength he stands with Venus still holding on to him. He reaches around his neck and unhooks her hands and drops them by her side.
“Please say you’ll be here tomorrow?” Sighing in defeat he replies, “I will, but only to hunt the boar my party and I seek. And that is all. Nothing more.” Pouting her lips in a cute manner
“A boar? Why seek the boar out? To seek and hunt the boar will only result in your death. Heed my words.” Nodding his head he turned quickly and broke into a sprint into the dark forest. She followed him for as long as she could but with no luck returned to the spot they had been in before.
Venus gladly welcomed the sun for today was the day she would see Adonis again and this day she would get him to fall in love with her. In the early morning hour she hears a group of hunters chasing what sounded like a boar. She walked through the forest to get a better look at them hoping one of them was her Adonis. The boar was being cornered and from his mouth she saw blood dripping. The boar didn’t look injured instead he looked desperate and longing to be free.
The hunters came into her view, as did the wounded one, to her displeasure it was Adonis. Venus begged Death to spare her Adonis and that she was joking when she spoke to Adonis. She meant no harm to him and certainly not his death. She begins to weep at the state his body is in. Adonis was lying on the ground with his blood spilling out from the tusk wound the boar had inflicted.
His blood was staining all that it touched, the meadow, the vegetation, and the soil. The hunters surround the boar and stab it repeatedly with their swords and spears. After tying the boar by the hooves and dragging it back to their village Venus runs to Adonis’ body. There she dropped to the forest floor and wept for her beautiful Adonis. Although his body had miraculously melted away all that had remained was a purple flower checkered with white. All the world’s love could not match the misery she felt for him, she cried until she could cry no more. For today was the day the world had lost its true beauty.
Venus had lost her Adonis.
