An Unknown is a universal balanced creature.  It has no weakness because it is everything.  It is a vampire; It is a faerie; It is a miko; It is a demon and all of the other mystical powers of the Unknown.  Unknowns can take on any form they choose, but esssencially have the look and the aura of a human.  Unkowns are so rare, that if one is born, chaos erupts.  Every being desires this ultimate weapon for themselves.  A mate, slave, or servant, an Unknown is the ultimate being to have in your aquaintance.  This is why the gods blessed the Unknowns with the ability to look and feel human.  

The only way one can tell someone is an Unknown is if you can get one to tell you, or you are familiar with somewhat peculiar aura.  The aura of the Unknown is almost exactly like that of a human, but emotions control what color it takes on.  If you can't tell the aura of an Unknown, getting one to tell you is just as difficult.  They have a built in defense system.  If you want to know what they are, you must figure out their riddle: I am all that is being, I am all that is not known The Universe is mine.  What am I ?.   Each riddle is different for each Unknown, so that the lifemates of the Unknowns can always tell the differences between each Unknown.  The riddle is quite simple, but only three types of people can acquire the answer: Those who are worthy and do not want to cause the Unknown harm, those who are tied directly to the gods, such as monks or mikos of holy power and purity, and the lifemate of the Unknown.  The yin and yang qualities of an Unknown soul causes it to be enormous.  It sometimes leaks out in little spurts of magic, usually in the form of pixie dust.  It's not odd that people around a Unknown sometimes have the ability to float or fly for a brief stints of time as a result of the pixie dust in the air.

Unknown's lifemate are unusually powerful and rare as they are.  The last lifemate of an Unknown was of the Gargoyle family.  It is believed that most of the lifemate of the Unknowns will derive from this bloodline because of their ancient knowlegde.  The children of the Unknown may or may not be Unknowns.  Most of the children will breed true to the father.  Unknowns are usually female.  Females represent the continuation of life and balance, so male Unknowns are pretty much non-existent.  There has never been a male Unknown, but it doesn't mean that it is impossible to have one; it just hasn't been done, and it is believed to be improbable.  Unknowns can sometimes be mistaken as Chamelon youkai.  Unknown can duplicate another being but not exactly.  Chameleon youkai can only take on the bodily form of the being and sometimes they can even duplicate the aura.  Unknowns become the being they duplicate.  When they change shape, they gain all the stengths and weaknesses of the being, but they also take on that shape with their own unique colors such as the eyes and hair may or may not change from one form to another.

Unknowns are born human.  They do not become aware of their powers until they are needed or called upon.  Once the power is awakened, the life of the Unknown is eternal.  The aging process continues along the lines of normal maturity until the human body reaches it's prime and ceases to grow naturally. For women, this could be from the ages of 18-21.  The human form then ceases to age.  Power awakening could come about in a number of forms.  Extreme stress or sadness may call it to life or if you are in a life altering situation, it may be awakened.  Power awakening can happen before birth, but it is not likely unless the mother is careless with baby in her womb.  The power will awaken in the womb to protect the child from harm.  This may even cause premature labor in some rare cases.  

The information given is only that which has been given to us from stories from the lifemates of the Unknown.  No one has seen a Unknown for a millenia but it is believed...
