Chapter 1

Prompt #1: Future

Several hundred years from what was called the Modern Era, some scientists came across what was known as the Higurashi Shrine. Of course, the occupants, those who were human, had long passed into the next world. They started digging  around, looking for clues as to what the Modern Era was likein what used to be a Tokyo suburb. It was several hours before they unearthed what looked to be an inhuman creature trapped in a clear substance. Theyhad no clue as what it was and tried to chip away at it with cutting instruments but to no avail. Several hours later, they wanted to give up, but suddenly they noticed its eyes start to glow, freeing itself from its prison. It stood up to face the strange humans, growling at them to keep their distance. "How long have I been asleep? Is it 2010?"

"Uh, it's the 26th Century. It looks like you've been asleep for more than 1,000 years."

Prompt#2    Dreams

Kagome ran as fast as she could from Kikyo's Shindamachuu. She knew what their purpose was; to retrieve the rest of her soul for their mistress. She ran until she reached a large lake and knew she was cornered by them. Soon, Kikyo appeared in front of her. "There's nowhere to run, my reincarnation. Now give me back MY soul."

"Get it through your head. It's MY soul. Your time has passed."

Kikyo walked closer, trying to pull Kagome's soul. Kagome fell back at the banks of the lake, her uniform becoming wet. She looked back and realized her quiver was empty and had an idea. The future miko removed her quiver, filled it with water and threw it at the clay shell. Kikyo was surprised and soon realized what was happening to her. "NOOOOOO!! I'm melting...melting...CURSE YOU, KAGOMEEEEE!"

The portion that was trapped in that clay shell returned to Kagome, her soul finally complete. As soon as that happened, Kagome sat up in bed and realized that it was just a dream. She learned her lesson to never watch the Wizard of Oz before going to bed.

Prompt#3: Confetti

"What is going on, Kagome?"

"Oh, nothing, you'll see, Sango-chan." Kagome dragged her best friend to the finest restaurant in town. The girls then entered and informed the host they were with the Taisho party. He nodded and showed them to the reserved table. They ordered dinner and soon had a cake for Sango's birthday. "Happy Birthday, Sango-chan."

Confetti dropped from the ceiling in honor of the birthday girl. Miroku smiled at the birthday girl. "Sango, we've been together for so long and I have a surprise of my own that's been planned for a while now." He then bent down on one knee, opening a black velvet box revealing a diamond ring. Tears soon sprang to Sango's eyes. "Happy birthday, my love. Will you marry me?" She was so emotional that she couldn't give her answer in words. She only nodded yes and flew into her fiancé's arms, kissing him on the lips. Shippo then threw a blue flame into the air, which exploded into more confetti in celebration of their engagement.

Prompt#4: Wiser

Kagome returned to the Feudal Era after graduating from high school. She wanted to start her new life as resident miko of Edo after hearing of Kaede's passing. But before life could continue, she made a wish that would send the Shikon no Tama into nonexistence. However, she couldn't continue dealing with the memories of being in the village with Inuyasha and left for the Western Lands to be with the one she truly loved: Sesshomaru. Deep in her heart, she knew she made the wiser decision for her future.

Prompt#5: Glitters

Kagome couldn’t help but look at Sesshomaru with envy. No matter what she did, her beauty could never compare with that of her mate; spa treatments, special shampoos for her hair, facials, and so on. None of these worked. She silently cursed as she watched him lean over the edge of the balcony, his hair glittering in the moonlight. But at the same time, it didn’t matter if he was perfection personified. At least he was hers.

Prompt#6: Pocky

“Miko, what is this?”

“It’s a snack called pocky. You want to try some?”

“As if this Sesshomaru would want to try such a thing.” With that, he left Kagome to eat her ‘pocky’.

Several hours later, Sesshomaru quietly crept into the kitchen, making sure Kagome was away. He looked for the box of pocky. When he found the box, he took out a stick and took a tentative bite. Sesshomaru found it to be quite delicious. When he finished a stick, he took out another stick and snacked on it. The taiyoukai was so engrossed in the pocky that he didn’t sense Kagome enter the kitchen. It was too late as he turned around to see his mate standing there with an amused look on her face. “Uh huh, and here I thought you wouldn’t try such a thing. Addictive, isn’t it?”

Prompt#7: Cherry Blossom

For centuries, Sesshomaru wondered what drew him to the future miko. He thought it was the power she held being the true alpha of the pack, especially over the hanyou when she would ‘sit’ him when he did something foolish, however it was not so. Then he thought it was her eyes that would sometimes draw him in. That wasn’t so either. As Kagome stepped out of the shower, Sesshomaru realized what it was that attracted him to her. It was natural scent of cherry blossoms that emanated from his mate, the same scent as his mother. He could never get enough of that scent, not since he was a mere pup. He smiled as the miko stepped into the bedroom. The taiyoukai then wrapped his arms around her, surprising her. “What’s the special occasion?”

“Nothing, koi. I just can’t get enough of your lovely scent. Never change it.”

Prompt#8: r0ozilla

Kagome came home after a long day of work. On the way, she couldn’t help but notice a plushie resembling a pink dinosaur with the face of a cute girl at the window of an anime store. It was so adorable that she couldn’t resist buying it. After she made her purchase, Kagome arrived home and went upstairs to her bedroom and opened the plastic bag containing the plushie. She looked at the tag for the name of said plushie. Sesshomaru came in and was curious about his mate’s purchase. “What is that, miko?”

“Isn’t she the cutest thing? Her name is r0ozilla. I just couldn’t resist buying her.”

“Hn.”

I had to read someone else’s drabbles for the other prompts since I could only stay up for the first few .If there were any more, I wouldn’t know.  I hope you enjoy them, especially r0o. Later. ^_^
