Cupids Blunder by chicke

Intro

High above the clouds in Rome was a huge white marble castle. In this castle lived a single mother and her son. The mother was the very embodiment of beauty and she had to be, for she was the Goddess of Love. Her son though much older than he looked had the appearance of a ningen boy the age of ten. His name was Cupid, and like his mother he was a mischief-maker.

Cupid was well known for his arrows which came in two varieties: : the Golden Arrow, which generally signified true love, and the Leaden Arrow, which represented wanton and sensual passion. Cupid was not always successful in his endeavors however. Sometimes his arrows turned people away from those who fell in love with them, but he did not care it was all fun to him.

Since the boy was old enough to fly his mother had to keep a close watch over him. Cupid was notorious for disappearing and wrecking havoc on the world below. Just two years ago, he escaped to America and shot an Indian princess and an English soldier with his famous love arrows. This led to all sorts of problems for the princess and the solder. It took his mother a near month to clean up his mess.

Now it was spring and he had disappeared once again.
