a turn and a twist

A/N: i ve posted this story on ff.net but then decided to also post it here as well. it will take a while to catch up with ff.net because i started a week ago and six chapters are already up there. i'll post one a day, atleast for a while. my next update date will be posted after the chapter.

CHAPTER ONE

Kagome would always associate burnt eggs with that day.

"You're what?"

"Engaged to Inuyasha Takahashi."

Kikyo's voice was joyful and light. The happiness was unquestionable.

"I...congratulations!"

"Thank you, Kagome. He proposed just now. And I...didn't know who to call. I'm glad you didn't freak out."

She had had no idea that Kikyo was dating Inuyasha Takahashi, a rich heir to a corporate empire or that she had a serious boyfriend. Last Kagome knew was that Kikyo was seriously pursuing her medical dreams. How distant they'd become.

She decided against bringing it up.

"Why would I? Tell me about the proposal."
