War Starts
Hello and welcome to Opposites. This story was inspired by a fan art titled high priestess by aiko. I hope you all enjoy this just as much as I have with writing it.
Chapter 1: War Starts
"My lady, my lady the city is under attack," yells a young woman.
"Very well summon the priestesses to the meeting hall," I command as I sit up in my bed.
"Yes my lady," the girl says before running off to do as I command.
I climb out of my bed and walk over to my dress stand. I pick up my heavy top and put it on. I slide my hands through the shoulder placement and allow my hands to slide through the wrist attachments. Next I pick up the lower garment which is heavier than the top garment. After placing my fighting shoes on, I walk over to my mirror and look at myself. The top has reinforced gold on the shoulders. The gold continues down with the neck line and has sapphires in it. The fabric is enough to cover my breasts and that is all. The shoulder guards are connected with my wrist guards by three separate long white cloths. My skirt is of the same design and reaches all the way down to my ankles. My hair is up in a bun. I grab my sword from the wall. I tie my white cloak into place around my neck. I walk to the meeting hall. Already most of the priestesses are here waiting for me.
"High Priestess Kagome, the armies of Anubis are nearing the walls. What are we going to do," asks one of an older priestess.
"We will defend this city. This is the main city of Basset; we must protect it for her," I tell them. "Let us go to the wall and prepare for their attack."
I lead the way through the city to the wall. Many people are staying in their houses in fear. I know this will not last long. The people of Basset have always valued their freedom and are willing to fight for it. As we near the walls I stop and motion forward the top three priestesses of the city. We climb to the top at the same time showing strength and unity. I hear gasps as the priestesses see the size of the army of Anubis. I hiss as I see the banner of the high priest of Anubis. Priestess Anaora steps forward. She is of the eastern temple of the city.
"Return to your cities, army of Anubis. This day need not end in blood," Anaora yells.
I hear the scoffs of the soldiers. I hiss as one of the priests sends a fire ball our way. No priestess can counter that without some serious training and the only people who receive that training are the high priestess-in-training. I raise my hand and murmur the small spell to extinguish the fire.
"Ah so the high priestess of Basset is here. You dare to insult us by telling us to leave. We are the soldiers of the god of death. The only way to escape being killed and the city being destroyed is to submit," demands a man in black robes with a sinister voice.
"You should know by now high priest of Anubis no cat submits easily. Especially not to any dog," I tell him.
"There is only one person who could ever tell me that, Kagome," he snickers.
"Of course, Sesshomaru," I say lowering my hood to allow the army of Anubis my face.
I listen to the gasp from both sides and contain a small sigh. They are surprised that the high priest of Anubis and the high priestess of Basset know each other and were on speaking terms before.
"One last warning, Sesshomaru. Leave this city and its inhabitants be," I yell with a sad look on my face.
I know there is no way that he will give up but I had to give it a try. I had to try and make him forget the need of Anubis to conquer all of the light.
"Only if Anubis commands it or you submit to my will," he replies.
Damn he knows I will never do so unless it is the will of Basset. I turn away from him and start to walk down the wall stairs.
"I will give you until tomorrow morning to decide," Sesshomaru yells.
I turn back and look him the eye. I watch as his lip rises up in a snarl. I just sent him a challenge to try and make me. He is honorable so he will wait even if his beast demands I be put in my place. I smile as I finish my way down the stairs. I go back into the temple to start making plans for the war
In the god’s realm:
"Enough of this Anubis. Stop this nonsense," Basset hisses out staring at her opposite.
"You know how to make this stop Basset," Anubis says.
I am stopping the chapter here. Saying what is needed by Anubis for him to end the war with no blood shed or just a small amount maybe would just ruin the story line. I hope you all enjoyed it.
