Two Black Cadillacs
Two Black Cadillacs
Song-fic Two Black Cadillacs by Carrie Underwood, rated for language and character death. Women scorned are no laughing matter! I do not InuYasha, Cadillac or Carrie Underwood or anything affiliated with these companies/people.
Two black Cadillacs driving in a slow parade
Headlights shining bright in the middle of the day
Light blue eyes stared forward and remained dry as the owner leaned against her brother-in-law. The woman had cried all her tears, her tears of betrayal, of disappointment in herself and her husband, her tears of rejection and her tears of hate. She was all cried out over the insensitive bastard she had married.
One is for his wife
She had been so trusting, so hopeful that a wedding band would prevent him from straying… she had been naive. She noticed her driver giving her concerned looks from the rearview mirror, and attempted a smile of reassurance.
The other for the woman who loved him at night
Jaded brown eyes stared unseeingly out the window of her car. She had believed the lines and the smiles. She had believed he loved her and would marry her one day, she never intended to be the ‘other woman’. Her pale hands smoothed the wrinkles from her dress, at least now she could start over with eyes wide open. Her driver was unusually silent as he wearily watched the matching car following the hearse.
Two black Cadillacs meeting for the first time
All were dressed in black as they assembled in the cemetery. Whispering and sniffles could be heard among the crowd, as two black haired women and one silver haired demon took seats before the coffin. Gifted flowers were placed tastefully about in sympathy and one in congratulations; Kouga had a sick sense of humor like that.
Miroku Inubu, a priest, and friend of the deceased family presided.
And the preacher said he was a good man
He spoke with emotion and accolades to the one being buried this day. Losing life so young and in such a freak accident, humbled most in attendance.
The silver haired demon stood, releasing his sister-in-law’s hand. Sesshoumaru was not one for words, but refused to speak ill of the dead.
And his brother said he was a good friend
But the women in the two black veils didn’t bother to cry
The women seated in the front row were silent and stared steadily at the dark wood of the coffin and the silver accents. It was more then the bastard deserved, but appearances must be kept. Miroku said one last prayer and then the front seat trio stood. It was time for final goodbyes.
Bye, Bye Bye, Bye
Yeah, they took turns laying a rose down
Kagome went first, her black dress and veil teased by the wind. She bowed her head as if in prayer, but prayed her husband burned in the fiery depths of hell. She placed a rose on the casket. Sesshomaru approached with an offered arm and escorted the widow away. Next was the female that few knew… and those who did hoped like hell that Kagome did not.
She did similar to Kagome, barely reframing from spitting on the casket. She gently placed her rose on the casket as well and stood at some distance from the Demon Lord and widow.
The line passed as mourners paid respect with flowers and trinkets.
Threw a handful of dirt into the deep ground
Kagome grabbed a handful of soil after the casket and the enclosure were lowered into the ground. She tossed the soil inside as her final good-bye. Sesshoumaru did the same, out of respect for Kagome… not his brother. The mystery female also grabbed some soil and tossed it inside.
Gold eyes questioned blue when this mystery woman was not reprimanded by the widow. When Kagome kept silent, Sesshoumaru decided to take action; it was his way. Petite pale hands grabbed Sesshoumaru’s arm when he attempted to approach the intruding young woman.
“For my sake Sesshoumaru… let her be,” Kagome whispered.
Golden eyes widened as the woman’s identity began to form in the Inu Lord’s mind.
He’s not the only one who had a secret to hide
Bye bye, bye bye, bye Bye
That must be the woman that his brother had requested a car for. Who had she been to his brother? Sesshoumaru looked down at Kagome’s pleading blue eyes, and they said it all. The mistress, this woman was the mistress and Kagome didn’t want a scene. He gave a nod and pulled his sister-in-law into a hug, his brother had never deserved a treasure such as Kagome.
Two black Cadillacs, two black Cadillacs
Kagome was slowly released from Sesshoumaru’s grip as pity filled his golden orbs. Turning her face away, Kagome caught sight of the tombstone and wanted to laugh at the inscription: ‘Loving Husband, Brother, Son and Friend’. Obviously the work of Miroku thinking he was being helpful. Anger and sadness infused Kagome’s aura as her mind wandered.
Two months ago his wife called the number on his phone
Kagome had been suspecting her husband of cheating for months now. He no longer talked of their future family and was rarely in the mood to even attempt the process of creating one with her. She had tried new hairstyles, new clothes, and a different diet… anything to get her husband’s attention. Nothing had worked. In fact, all her attempts weren’t even noticed. Even rubbing his puppy ears didn’t turn him on anymore, he simply got annoyed.
Then the cell phone calls, that he always claimed to be work or the wrong number. Since when did a male spend half an hour talking to a wrong number?
The late nights, or his ‘all-nighters’ became too often for the projects he claimed to be working on. The constant showers when he returned home, before a even a small kiss of greeting were very telling.
After returning home from an ‘all-nighter’, her husband had retreated to the shower… without locking his cell phone.
Grabbing the device and retreating to the garage, she quietly scrolled through his call history and noticed one number that was very prominent.
It was now or never, and Kagome was too pissed for never.
A cute little ring-back sang in Kagome’s ears before a breathy voice answered with a giggle, “What did you forget here this time?”
“My name is Kagome Tashio, and just who the hell are you?” Kagome snapped at Miss. Giggles.
“I’m…”
“More importantly, why the hell is your number polluting my husband’s cell phone?” Kagome interrupted.
“Husband?” the woman asked confused.
“Silver hair, dog ears… Ring any bells?” Kagome spat.
“But, but Inu isn’t married…” The girl whispered faintly.
“You can bet your sweet ass he is. Four years!” Kagome stormed back.
“He picked me up at a single’s bar, said he was a widower…” the girl replied with tears in her voice.
“He. Did. What?” Kagome hissed.
“He said he was a widower, I thought you were dead, I swear,” the girl blubbered. “He lied, that son-of-bitch lied!?”
Turns out he'd been lying to both of them for oh so long
“That lying piece of shit,” Kagome whispered as she glared at the house where her husband was currently. “How long have you being seeing him?”
“Just over four months…” the woman replied despondently.
“And you’re name was?”
“Kikyo Tama,” the girl responded with shame.
“Well, Kikyo old dogs can’t learn new tricks, but they can sure as hell learn lessons.”
They decided then he’d never get away with doing this to them
“He will pay for this!” Kikyo replied.
“Oh, he will.” Kagome replied as revenge took hold of her heart and soul.
A woman scorned was hell, but two? Two women scorned was Arma- fucking-geddon.
Two black Cadillacs waiting for the right time, right time
Kagome was brought back from her musing as the mysterious Kikyo walked past.
It was the first and the last time they saw each other face to face
“I’m sorry for loss,” Kikyo addressed Kagome, who simply nodded her acceptance.
They shared a crimson smile and just walked away
“On his weakest night, we’ll take out the trash.” Kagome had explained.
Kikyo eagerly agreed, “It will all seem like some freak accident.”
And left the secret at the grave
Sesshoumaru watched the interaction closely and curiously. The woman was in her Cadillac and gone before Kagome made steps to move.
“Do not pity me Sesshoumaru,” Kagome said with her back to the Inu Lord. He nodded and led her to the car where the driver waited. 'Pity that fool in the ground,' Kagome thought to herself.
Bye bye, Bye bye
