Sliding in and out of sleep Kagome felt her mind drifting from one subject to another. The one it was currently on was the well. The well had been claimed as territory to a small clan of dog demons similar to Kirrara and wouldn't let anyone anywhere close to it if they tried. Kagome was devestated at this. She had to wonder though if some day that they would move on from the well clearing. Taking a deep breath Kagome felt a tear slide down her face onto her pillow soaking the cotton beneath her left cheek. Would she ever be able to go home?

Sesshoumaru had found great amusement in the fact that the miko had tried to plead with the alpha male about approaching the well and going through it only to be refused. The girl had turned away with tears threatening to spill from her eyes amusing the alpha greatly. Watching the girl go about her days listlessly was boring Sesshoumaru had decided and had approached the alpha of the small pack about her being allowed access to the well only to find himself refused as well. When the alpha had been asked why it had refused to explain it actions and that it would not elabarate further on the subject.

Sesshoumaru felt his lip curl up in a snear at the smell of the girls tears. The alpha was causing her tears. Tears of anguish for his foolishness of not letting her pass through the well. The miko had approached the alpha correctly about her going into its territory in a manner that would cause even him to allow her to pass on through.

The alpha knew that it was hurting the girl to not be allowed to go to where ever the well took her and was taking it harder then he had thought possible. Why was she reacting like this? She was strong for a human. Where had all of that strength of will gone? She had seemed to be so proud during those battles he saw her in. She had stood back straight, bow held aloft and in a stance all her own. Her courage was not something to take lightly. She would protect her own with a firceness of a demoness protecting her pack.

Where was the girl he wanted to gift with one of his own? The girl had seemed to be a perfect candidate for taking care of one of his pack and would thus have a connection to this place forever. Did she not want that? Did she want to leave that much that she would rather not have a connection to this forest or demons. He had thought the girl beyond such thinking. Maybe he had chosen the wrong female.

The alpha didn't even consider the fact that the girl didn't know his reasons for keeping the girl in the village outside of the forest.
