You're use of quotes and provebs to move the story along and to give an idea of what the 'thesis' of the chapter is about really catches my attention. I love quotes (chances are, I mispelled that word...again.)
Kagome and Sesshoumaru's interaction is great; I like how you don't have her automatically comfortable in his presence--society's fear was ingrained in her and it still lingers, which would be true. As for Sesshoumaru, I like how he slowly begins to open up and in this chapter begins to tease her in a roundabout arguement. Very good characterizations and interactions.
As for Miroku, I liked how to portrayed him in the position of counsuler and still kept him, of course, a bit of a pervert. However, it might be hard to keep him in a position of power in a school and keep true to his character, unless you tone down some of his less...ahem...decent antics. Sexual harassment cases has been called on far less than a few indecent stares...But overall, you captured him well in a modern setting. It makes sense that he would try for a job that puts him closer to young pretty women, and perhaps single teachers.
Very good story and very enjoyable. I hope you can get out a new chapter soon.
