WHAT?!
Reality - by Sesshou-chan Lover
AN: Ok, I'll try to lessen the ANs during the story. I just want to say that I'm running out of IDEAS!!! for my other story, "Alone". Help!! Also, I almost have another chapter finished for that story, but I don't think I'll post it yet – lol. I want more reviews! (as usual). Anyways, thanks for reading this, and please review!
Chapter 1: WHAT?!!!
It had been another tiring day of shard hunting for the Inu-tachi. After the day's travel, they had only collected 2 shards, and the group was exhausted. Inu-yasha suffered minor wounds that were already healing, Miroku was fine, but Sango had sprained her ankle. Kagome was fine, as was Shippou. Since the supplies for ramen were running short, Kagome decided to go home.
"Inu-yasha, I'm going home to restock on my supplies. I'll be back in 3 days, ok?" Kagome said, almost sure that the conversation would end with a well-earned "Sit!!"
"What?! Wench, we're on a roll here!! We just got 2 shards!! If you go, we have no one to detect them!" Inu-yasha said.
"So that's all I am? A shard detector, after 3 whole years? I've given up my life in the Present for you, just because I'm a SHARD DETECTOR?!" Kagome yelled. "SIT!" In the past 2 years, Kagome had learnt lots of things. Her miko powers were growing each day, and Kaede believed that they would one day surpass Kikyou's. They already had, but Kagome didn't feel that it was the time to tell them yet. They still thought that all Kagome could do was do simple things, like shoot purifying arrows, create shields, and mask her scent. Sango knew to an extent about it, because she had been worried when Kagome had been in the hot springs.
~*Flashback, in Sango's POV*~
"Guys, I'm going to go take a bath. Sango, can you please stay here and watch Miroku?" Kagome asked me.
"Ok, Kagome-chan." I said, sitting close, but not too close to the houshi. He might be a good friend of mine, but he was still a huge lecher, and you could never be too sure next to him. I narrowed my eyes as I felt a hand on my "behind"...AGAIN. "HENTAI!!" I said as I wacked him on the head with my boomerang.
"Why, Sango dearest, I swear I was only getting some dirt off of your kimono!" Miroku said "innocently" from the floor now sporting a lump on his head. I sighed, and walked over to a log to sit on. Inu-yasha was nowhere to be seen. Usually, Kagome took only a short period of time to bathe...I started worrying about her safety.
"Houshi-sama, I'm going to go check on Kagome. DON'T follow, or you'll see the consequences." I said, glaring at him.
"Why, Sango-chan, I'll see, alright..." I glared at him harder. "Of course I won't follow, Sango-chan!"
"Right..." I said. "Shippou-chan, can you look after him? If he starts walking in my direction, fly over to the hot springs and tell me." I asked.
"Sure!" Shippou said as he hopped down from the tree, sitting on Miroku's shoulder. Miroku pouted (AN: awwwwwwwwwwww) and sat down on the floor, and I walked the way that Kagome went. After about 2 minutes of walking, what I saw made my jaw drop. There were around 2 or 3 demons surrounding Kagome who was in the hot springs! I started running towards her direction, when I saw a burst of light that made me shield my eyes. 1 moment later, after I looked, Kagome was still sitting calmly in the spring pouring some of her "sha – pu" or something like that in her hair. I walked up towards her.
"K...Kagome-chan? Are you alright?" I asked, extremely confused. She jumped up in shock, it seemed she had been deep in thought.
"Oh...Sango-chan, did you see what just happened?" Kagome asked me nervously.
"Yes...how did you kill those demons?" I asked, still confused.
"Sango-chan...I don't think I should tell Inu-yasha and them this, but I trust you. All I'm going to tell you is that I know that Inu-yasha has been going to Kikyou frequently, and I'm over him." She said as I sat down close to her. I nodded, and she continued, "My miko powers have been growing, but I don't want Inu-yasha OR Naraku to know. If Inu-yasha knows, Kikyou will know and if she knows then Naraku will know. I don't want that to happen. The final battle is coming nearer and nearer, and I hope my powers can help. I'm not going to tell you the full extent of my powers yet though. Naraku may even be watching us this moment, so this is all I'm going to say. Sango-chan, please don't tell anyone!" Kagome said.
I was still dazed trying to process all this information, but I nodded. "I swear I won't tell anyone until the time comes. But if you come into any harm, or if your powers are affecting you badly, I will have no choice to tell someone, ok?" I compromised.
"Ok. Now, are you sure that Miroku isn't here? He might have followed you or something..." Kagome said as she got out of the water. I couldn't help but wonder how much power she held, by destroying 3 demons so quickly.
"I'm sure. Inu-yasha isn't here –" I was cut off.
"He's with Kikyou." Kagome answered.
"You're not the least bit sad about this?" I said; Kagome had always been hurt when Inu-yasha went to Kikyou.
"I've learnt to get over him. I mean, I know whenever he sees me, he sees Kikyou. He'll never see the real me, the real Kagome. He still goes to her after all the things I've done for him, and she has even tried to kill me more than once! How can someone still love a person like that if the person has done so much terrible things to you? I don't think I could stand another heartbreak."
"I understand, Kagome-chan."
"So, what DO you actually feel for Miroku?" Kagome said, suspiciously sounding like she was teasing me. I sputtered, and said,
"Nothing! I feel nothing other than friendship for the houshi!" I said, thinking that I was going to turn red.
"Uhuh, Sango..." she said disbelievingly.
"Ok, I'm done, let's go back!" Kagome said as she grabbed her stuff and started walking. I followed along shortly still pondering on what she said. Could I really have feelings for the houshi? How much power does Kagome really have? Suddenly, it struck me. Inu-yasha, you baka. You pushed Kagome away, after all she did for you! Bastard...you know, he probably IS a bastard...(AN: Inu-fans, I don't think you should read this...)
(Mysterious Person's POV)
I was still hiding behind a tree, masking my scent and aura. I had listened to the whole conversation, and I had been there when she had destroyed the demons. Interesting...I wonder what is the true extent of her power...baka hanyou...
~*End Flashback*~
Sango was interrupted out of her musings when Kagome said, "Sango-chan, do you want anything from my era? And yes, Shippou, I'm going to bring you back some chocolate." Shippou cheered, and Kagome smiled. Inu-yasha just fehed, but his ears perked up, and he sniffed.
"I'm going to take a walk." Inu-yasha said as he jumped out of view.
"Um...I don't want anything now...oh, wait! Kagome-chan, could you bring back more of those hair ribbons...err...the things that hold up your hair?" she asked.
"Sure! Miroku, do you want anything?" Kagome asked, looking at Miroku.
"Err...can you bring back some of the 'pai – per' from your era? The texture is fascinating, and it would be easier to use my spells on them." Miroku said, for once not lecherous.
"Sure! Here, Miroku, I already have some paper here." Kagome answered, and dug some paper out of her bag giving it to Miroku.
"Arigato, Kagome!" Miroku said while examining the paper.
"Your welcome Miroku. I figure I'll just bring back some ramen for Inu-yasha after he's done with Kikyou. He IS still my friend, hopefully, after all." Kagome said cheerfully and walked away. Miroku turned questionably towards Sango and Sango sighed and explained the part of Kagome knowing about Kikyou and Inu-yasha. Miroku just felt sorry for his friend.
~*In the Present time*~
Kagome hummed happily as she climbed out of the well and walked towards the house. Approaching the door, she heard voice arguing. She didn't enter, but she leant her ear against the door listening. It seemed like it was a man's voice – but it was familiar, and it wasn't jii-chan's...(sp? is grandfather ji-chan or jii-chan again?)
"We have to tell her soon!" the man's voice yelled.
"No, it will just make Kagome upset that we haven't told her!" Kagome's mom yelled back.
"Exactly! We should tell her sooner!! If Kags finds out about it AFTER it happens, she'll be even more angry!" the man said. Kagome was confused – the only man who called her Kags was her father, but he was dead!
"I guess we should tell her that –" Kagome couldn't take it anymore and she pushed through the door. She gasped. Standing in her kitchen was her father – but he couldn't be her father!!
"Daddy...you're alive...and you're...demon?!" Kagome gasped.
Kagome: Aww...come on, why was the chapter so short?!
Sesshoumaru: I agree, and I wasn't even in it!
SCL: Well...you'll people see, you'll see.
Sesshoumaru: I demand the answer. (claws start glowing green)
SCL: Ahhhh!!! You'll find out in the next chapter!!! Ahh!!! (Runs) ANYWAYS, THANKS FOR READING AND PLEASE REVIEW!! (duck)
AN: Do you people want to know why this chappie was so short? It was because I didn't really think you people would like it. So, I decided to end it there and if I get 5 or more reviews I'll continue the story. If I don't, well, I'll see from there...I actually have the whole plot thought out for this one...I'll try to update on Alone next!
