Chapter One

Kagome sighed when she looked at the mountain of bills that lay before her. Her mother illness was taking a toil on her both emotionally and now financially.On top of that there was the problem on how to pay for school. Yes she had the scholarships and grants which are helping out a lot, however there was the cost of books and school supplies. And that didn't even go into her needs and wants. Kagome laughed when she remember about her wants...they were put on the back burner long time ago.

'Why did fate have to be so cruel to people at times?' she mused.

A cellphone broke Kagome's train of thought. She picked up the phone and look to see who was calling. Sango...Kagome smiled and thought that fate definitely was not cool to her. She was rich and had a loving boyfriend and she was beautiful to top it off.

"Hey Kagome! You are still coming to the party tonight right? Do not back out now Kagome. Who knows, you just might be prince charming. And plus, I need someone to hang with because ..." Sango started babbling out.

Kagome laughed and shaked her head while replying, "Sango give me a chance to speak? ...It is ok, I am used to you dominating the convos. And yes I am coming. Still coming to pick me up? Thanks be ready in like ten mintues, and yes I will be ready in ten mintues."

Kagome hanged up her cell and left the kitchen leaving all her worries behind. She had a ball to get ready for and maybe, just like Sango said, she might find a prince charming.

With that thought in mind Kagome ran upstairs to her room and started to get ready to prove to Sango she could get dress in ten minutes.
