A Curse to Remember by Sakimi
Prologue: Mistaken
A/N: Come one, come all, to my first Inuyasha fic ever! Fun, fun, fun... I will tell now, I NOT be writing too many of these (author's notes, not stories *wink*). I feel that they take up space and I never really have anything to say so there you go. Anyway, on to the story!
Disclaimer: Not mine. You shall see no more of these evil things *glare*
A Curse to Remember

Prologue: Mistaken
~
"Lord Sesshoumaru! Look what I found!"
Sesshoumaru turned to look at the little human girl, his silver hair flying in the wind. She appeared to be poking something with a stick as though she expected it to move. She turned and gave him a gleeful look.
"Come quickly!" Rin implored, shrieking when she accidentally stepped on whatever the thing was.
Overcome by curiosity, and not having anything better to do, the demon slowly made his way towards the girl. His step faltered slightly when the object came into view. His first thought was of a withered old version of Jaken. The demon, for it obviously was a demon, seemed to be on the brink of death. Sesshoumaru felt a sudden urge to get Rin far away from the creature.
"Rin, we are finished here. Go find Ah-Un and be ready to leave," he ordered.
Rin looked slightly disappointed but a grin soon brightened her face.
"Of course, Lord Sesshoumaru!" she cried as she ran off to search for the dragon.
Sesshoumaru turned to go back to the camp and had just taken a few steps when a scratchy voice stopped him.
"Are...you just...going to...leave me here?" it gasped.
Sesshoumaru looked back to see the old toad demon struggle to a sitting position. It had a look on its face somewhere between anger and desperation as it scrutinized the dog demon. Sesshoumaru glared at the toad and walked away.
The toad growled and scrunched its face up as it fell back to the ground. A few moments later, the toad's body stretched and twisted, forming a young man with short black hair and dressed in priest robes. The human had grievous wounds and used the last of his strength to curse the dog demon, finishing with a damning sentence.
"You shall...become...that which...you hate most..."
And, with that, he died.
Sesshoumaru sat alone at the temporary camp, meditating, his mind free of distraction. Rin had yet to return with the dragon and Jaken was nowhere to be found. For once in a long time, Sesshoumaru was completely peaceful.
That peace, however, was quickly lost when a sudden uneasy feeling shivered up the demon's spine. He opened his eyes and looked around, lightly sniffing the air for intruders. Nothing. Sesshoumaru shut his eyes again but stayed wary of his surroundings.
A strange feeling on his forehead followed another moment of uneasiness. He reached up and noticed something else that made him start. His claws, his beautiful poisoned claws, were retracting and rounding out!
All rational thoughts flew from the demon's mind, however, when a sudden agonizing pain pierced him. It felt as if something was trying to rip itself from his body. Fighting to stay conscious, Sesshoumaru squinted up and saw a green cloud flying away and taking with it, it seemed, his strength. Feeling immediately cut-off, he gave up on his battle and let the darkness take him.
I kinda wanted to wait until I had written a few chapters before I posted this but I couldn't wait any longer...lol. So let me know what you think and I'll be sure to try and fix anything.
