A Wish Come True by Saori-chan
Demonic Dilemma
'Why am I always in the way? I'm never any use to Inu Yasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippou! I'm always the one that needs to be saved, never the one to save,' Kagome screamed to herself as she watched Inu Yasha and co. fight a snake demon. Kagome had used up the last of her arrows which left her utterly useless. Quickly dodging a blow to her head she scrambled behind a couple of brush to watch.
Seeing the demon try and strike at Kagome, Inu Yasha gave a mighty swing at the snake's back which caused it to howl in pain, but divert attention away from Kagome. "You alright Kagome," Inu Yasha yelled as he quickly evaded the snake's poison fangs.
"Uh-huh," Kagome said hoarsely at the mere strike to her head. The battle wasn't going to well, Miroku and Sango had been flung to a tree knocking them unconscious while Shippou was being constricted. Inu Yasha on the other hand, was unarmed since the snake gave him a swipe from its deadly tail causing him to drop it. 'Oh great! Now what are we to do, everyone is badly hurt and vulnerable!' Creeping closer to the battle she looked desperately for something to convert the snakes attention away from Inu Yasha. Finding nothing of any use, Kagome whispered angrily, "Why can't I help anyone! I wish that for once, I can help out and not sit on the side lines cheering them on."
A crystal blue flower that was in budding form, quickly blossomed as dust fell from its petals onto Kagome. The flower that had bloomed for a mere five seconds quickly died and fell to the floor lifelessly. The snake quickly turned in Kagome's direction and quickly lunged at her with poison fangs in a snap position. Seeing this, Kagome quickly jumped high into the air and went down with claws bared cutting the demon straight down the middle effortlessly. Standing up, she looked at her nails, which had mysteriously formed claws! 'Did I just kill a demon?!' Kagome looked at her hair that had also changed to a snowy white color and was past waist length! 'What's going on!' Looking up to see Inu Yasha staring at her with amazement, but that quickly changed when he reached for his Tetsusaiga and drew it into a offensive battle position. "Inu Yasha, why are you drawing your sword? It's me, Kagome."
Inu Yasha looked confused as to why she was talking to him as if they've known each other for a very long time. Growling he replied, "You want me to believe a demon that has white hair and claws to be Kagome?! What do you take me for!" Jumping forward he swung the Tetsusaiga at the demon angrily.
Shocked by the answer and the quick movement of the half-breed, Kagome quickly jumped back. 'W-What's going on?' Not taking any chances, Kagome ran into the woods to rethink what had just occurred.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, Sesshoumaru-sama," said a breathless green toad. "Today is the day when you're suppose to pick a bride to rule with you over the Western Lands like the other lords have said. Aren't you even going to be concerned? I mean, if you don't find one anytime this year you will be forced to marry a demon that the other lords have picked at random! And judging by the choices last year, it won't be all to pleasant."
Keeping a straight face Sesshoumaru gave a calm reply, "Yes, I know Jaken. Just take care of Rin and I shall deal with the rest." Giving a quick nod Jaken fell in back of Sesshoumaru so he could keep a close eye on their human companion, Rin. 'The lords think they can force me to marry? What bakas, they won't be successful. Last year they tried, but all turned out horrible when I slaughtered the brides,' giving a deadly smirk, Sesshoumaru continued on his path to the council room.

"What just happened back there! Inu Yasha tried to kill me and I killed a demon!" Kagome looked at her new form in the water's reflection. On her forehead she held a purple marking of a crescent moon with a small sun teetering dangerously as if ready to fall. She had three other purple slashes at the side of her left cheek. 'What's going on,' Kagome said to herself in a frantic way as her pupils turned a dark blue. Hearing some rustling from behind her, she quickly got to her feet and stared at the brush in a counter like position.
The creature that emerged from it was a cat. Sighing at her dumbness of being all tensed about a kitten she quickly sat down and coaxed it to come to her. The kitten looked at her curiously and approached with caution. Kagome smiled at the cat's reaction and gently stroked the kitten's head. "I know, I'll name you Sheizu," Kagome said as she giggled at the cat's affection towards her petting.
Sheizu walked to the water's edge and gave a little "Meow." The lake swirled as waves clashed against each and arising from the lake's depths was what looked to be a little girl. She wore a head band that gave the Chinese symbol of water.
Kagome looked at her in astonishment, but her instincts, which she had figured were now youkai, told her not to let her guard down. Kagome gave a guess that this little girl was a water demon. What Kagome assumed was a "water demon" opened her eyes and stuck her palm in Kagome's direction as water sprang forth barely missing Kagome as she quickly dodged it. Clenching her teeth the water demon set forth waves upon waves of water. Though Kagome was demon and dodged most of them, she was hit hard in the stomach by one which flung her into a tree.
Seeing Kagome stand to her feet the water demon said angrily, "Why do you not dye! Even a demon such as yourself cannot withstand a full force water blow and even if they did, they would be unconscious!" Not taking any chances the water demon gathered a ball of water in her palms for her most powerful attack, 'Nygrid Storm.'
Looking at the demon, Kagome said mockingly, "Is that the best you got!" Taking air, she ran towards the demon as she called out, "Triple Flower!" Kagome hit the demon in the stomach and quickly did a back flip hitting the demon once more. When upon landing powerful waves of energy formed in the palm of her hand, then upon just a thrust it flew like a powerful beam straight through the demon.
When the light had faded the water demon stood floating in mid air with her mouth wide open, "How-How could this happen..." Slowly the water demon evaporated into thin air.
Taking a few breathes to recover herself, Kagome realized that Sheizu had witnessed her spectacular victory. Looking Sheizu she gave a comforting smile as she collapsed in exhaustion. Sheizu looked at Kagome worriedly and started licking her face, but it didn't wake her.
Looking around as if to inspect if anyone was around, Sheizu transformed into a larger form a cat with blue flames burning on its paws. Sheizu circled Kagome and laid down in a protective cat position, putting its head upon Kagome's back it fell into deep slumber. The only thing that Sheizu had overlooked was a wolf demon that stirred nearby.
It stepped ever so closer to the sleeping demons and readied itself for attack, "I will have a feast, and with this I will bring many foods to my people." The wolf demon quickly examined his prey and noticed that one was a cat demon, the other a most powerful dog demon. 'She will become my mate yet, and bare me the greatest of pups.' Cracking his knuckles he edged a little closer to his sleeping prey.
