A Kiss In The Dark by Shadow

Chapter One

It was dark, a lone figure stood at the edge of a cliff, her raven hair blowing in the light breeze. She is watching as the moon rises in the east, full and beautiful. As she watches thoughts dance across her mind about her traveling companion. What will happen when the jewel is complete? Retched Shikon no Tama! I wish I hadn't shot it in the first place! A man approaches from behind her, his long silver hair billowing out behind him. He stops at arms length and sniffs the air.

" You are my brothers bitch," he states to her.

" I am no ones bitch thank you very much!" the girl yells as she turns around, she gasps at what she sees and steps back, " What happened Sesshoumaru?"

The man was covered in crusted blood, his face was bruised and he had a slight limp as he stepped towards her. His kimono was ripped and his bare chest gleamed in the moonlight, " I was in a fight and lost," he said. Suddenly he grunted and fell forwards onto the raven-haired girl who held out her arms and stopped his alarmingly light body from hitting the ground.

" I am Kagome," the girl said as she dragged Sesshoumaru towards a nearby river to wash off the caked blood, " Let's get you cleaned up."

Kagome slipped off his shirt and gasped at his well-toned chest. He smiled weakly at her and reached out a hand to grasp hers.

" Kagome," he mumbled at her as she rubbed the blood from his chest, " You're beautiful."

" Eh?" she asked stopping what she was doing, " Sesshou-sama, I think you've lost a bit too much blood."

" No," he mumbled shaking his head, " You are beautiful, and I love you."

Kagome's eyes twitched and she looked ahead, " You hate humans," she said shaking her head.

" No," he said pulling her head down towards his, " I only hate the stupid ones, Kagome." And then he kissed her, much to her shock, and then he passed out in her arms. Kagome sighed and continued washing him until he sparkled like new (Kinda sounds like a car huh?) As she was redressing him his golden eyes opened and he looked utterly shocked to see her.

" What are you doing human?" he demanded as he sat up and backed away, " How dare you touch me?"

" Do you remember what happened last night?" Kagome asked him, " You don't remember kissing me?"

" This Sesshoumaru kiss a human?" he spat at her, " I wouldn't even look on you if I had a choice."

" And then," Kagome started with a twinkle in her eye, " You took me, and made me your mate."

Sesshoumaru stopped dead in his tracks and nearly fell over.

" You said that I was yours forever, and that you were mine," Kagome continued, turning away from him so he couldn't see her smile, " You said that I would bear you strong pups, and that you would always protect them and me."

" I didn't, I wouldn't. Not a human," Sesshoumaru stuttered as he took another step towards her, " Are you serious?"

" No," Kagome said as she walked away, " You were injured so I washed the blood off of you, that's all."

Sesshoumaru stared after her, dumbfounded for a while before recovering and taking to the sky.

" Wench."
