~ CHAPTER 1 ~

~ In an unknown world ~
Engaged in a staring contest was the almighty king of Nekoland and his lovely daughter, Kagome.
"I won't marry him!! I swear dad, if you insist on forcing me to be with him then I will... I will never talk to you again!!"
The King's furry cat ears that laid up top of his head twitched rapidly after hearing his own daughter say those words. "Kagome, darling. Please, be reasonable. This is the only way to seal the deal between Ookamiland and Nekoland. If he remains loyal to us then it would be all thanks to you!! Think about Kagome. The fate of our kingdom is on your shoulders!!"
The ruler of all cat demons alive, the great king that lead Nekoland, King Higurishi, was reduced to begging his stubborn daughter to marry the wolf demon prince, Kouga. O how the mighty have fallen. In truth, Kouga wasn't that bad. Sure, there were the few times when he had tried to 'woo' his daughter by peeking at her while she was bathing, but in the end it wasn't really worth seeing as he had gotten ..ooo..about a couple hundred bruises from the very person he was spying on.
"Well, why can't Sango marry him??? Why does it have to be me??? Daddy, you know how much he ...disturbs me."
Kagome sat in the purple velvety chair opposite of her father, her tail moving angrily about, glaring at him for trying to make her be that..that demon's bride. She took a good look at the imfamous king infront of her. Today he looked less lively than usual.
He wore his usual golden crown that has five jewels imbedded in the upper part of the crown. Three sapphires, two on the outer edges and a big one in the center, and two rubies in-between the sapphires. He wore one of his long, fancy cloaks, the one that shimmers like a river of diamonds. King Higurishi was tall and round, kind of like Santa Claus minus the white beard and red clothes. His smokey gray hair, which by the way was not caused by old age, matched his deep green eyes perfectly.
"Yes, yes, i know, i know. You have told me many times, my dear. And even if you had not informed me I would have figured. But, you and I, both know that your sister has Miroku. A fine neko that one is."
Signing, King Higurishi walked over to his youngest daughter and held her hand.
"I am terribly sorry that you have to go through with this, kagome, however it's for the entire kingdom. If you marry him then not only will the ties between both lands be more secure, but Nekoland would be that much more stronger and safe. And you would be protected as well. Listen, I know that he acts a bit deranged when around you, but that only strengthens my belief that he is crazy about you. That way I know that you are well taken care."
Kagome thought about what he said for a moment. Then she got up, released her father's hand and walked towards the uncovered window in the living room of the heavenly palace, where the soft, summer breeze was blowing. The sun was setting now, making a beautiful picture with different shades of orange, yellow and red, and little splashes of dark blue and violet. They had been going on about this for the whole day. She knew that if he hadn't given up by now then he mind was set on this marriage happening.
'I won't go down without a fight' thought the princess more determined than ever.
"Daddy, I don't need to be looked after. I am perfectly able to take care of myself. I can hunt. I can fight. I can provide for myself. Just because I have turned down every male demon in Nekoland doesn't mean that I won't find a mate. When the time is right, when I have found 'the one' then I will bring him to you so you can approve of our courting. Just like how mother would have wanted it."
Yes, it was true. The well-liked queen of Nekoland had passed away. Five years ago, she had suffered from an unknown disease. Time had passed and the pain had lessened somewhat.
"That sounds nice, kitten, but by then I would have already aged into an old, grumpy cat. You are too picky about mates. I'll never get to see my future son-in-law. Your standards are just too high!!" teased the Great Lord.
"Dad, I'm getting a headache!! Can we please discuss this in the morning??
"Alright sweetie, see you in the morning. Good night." And with a kiss on the forehead he left the princess to her own thoughts.
Kagome walked over to where her full-length mirror stood and gazed into it. A familiar person looked back. That person was 5' 4" and she had long, shiny black hair that hung above her waist with a white streak on the right side of her brushed-to-the-side bangs. She also had dark, indigo eyes that could make an entire ocean cry out in jealousy. Her attire was made only of a white V-neck, sleeveless dress that had gold frills outlining the curves of her body. It had different lengths at the bottom that curled, making her look like a fairy from an enchanted forest.
Ever since the news was broken to her this morning she had been thinking of ways to get her out of this situation. And since her father definitely will not back down there was only one way to resolve this problem. It was a bit extreme, but hey, desperate times calls for desperate measures.
It was hectic inside the Hime-sama's mind. A plan that was fool-proof, that can get her out of being that ookami's mate. Now that was certainly worth using her prodigious brain to think about.
Kagome thought for the rest of the night while she laid in bed. When the first warning of dawn approaching, a tiny smile spread across her face.
'hehe, I will be free of this soon....very soon.'

In Osaka, Japan
"Rin, Rin where are you??" questioned an ugly, green toad youkai frantically. "If Sesshoumaru-sama finds out that I have lost her then he will most definitely kill this lowly servant!! O... I hope she pops up somewhere soon. I really don't get these game she plays."
"BBBOOOO!!!" shouted a cute 9-year-old girl that surfaced from her makeshift fort of soft teddy bears.
"AAAAAhhhhhhhh!!!!" the green toad fainted on the floor of Rin's bedroom.
Giggling hysterically the girl with soft brown eyes and medium length brown hair make a break for the door.
Just as she was about to reach the doorknob, the handle turned, the door opened, and a figure that possessed long, silvery-white hair, glowing amber eyes and fuzzy triangular dog ears walked into the room.
"Uncle Inu, what are you doing here?? I thought you were still in Tokyo for the business meeting." Rin stared at Inuyasha with big, innocent eyes.
"Feh. I thought you might be bored so I came to check up on you. So how'd you been, kid? Missed me??" his eyes softening somewhat.
Rin stared at her uncle Inuyasha in his black, Armani suit, which made him look very important, just like her father.
"You came back early from the meeting just to see me??" asked Rin with her naturally sweet voice.
"Of course not, Fluffy's there taking my spot. And you know, I know when I'm not needed. So I came here to see if froggy over there was taking proper care of my favourite niece."
"Heheh. I'm your only niece. Hey Uncle Inu, you want to play with me??"
"In a minute, kid. Let me unpack first." " Mm'k"
As he walked towards his room in the familiar mansion he couldn't help but feel like something will happen soon. Good and bad?? He couldn't tell, but he knew it was something BIG.
