The Fire's of the Moon by MoonFire

Beginnings

Kagome sat up in her bed, and looked lazily outside her window. The dark sky kept its promise by the deep roll of thunder that shook her windows. Kagome smiled quite devilishly and stroked her soft lips sensually as lightning brought her face to life.

She smirked. "Sesshomaru... what have you done to me?" she purred gloriously while she settled on her pillow between her legs and gazed at the angry sky.

Silently, she packed her stuff, and paused while picking up her yellow backpack when a large shot of lightning, bright as day, affected her eyes.

:::FLASHBACK:::

Her mind flashed back to when she first locked eyes with the predator called Sesshomaru. She remembered how his eyes were seething with hatred for Inuyasha,

but when he looked at her yelling in Inutaisho's grave, she saw his eyes were taken aback even though he never showed it in his body language. She was entranced, but her heart made her think of Inuyasha, since he was the underdog with the rusty sword. As soon as it transformed, she remembered feeling remorse for Sesshomaru as he lay stunned and cut down after the ruthless attack dealt from tetsusaiga. She could've sworn that she saw him glance at her a mere second before he was dispersed in a white light that transported him to safety somewhere beyond Kagome's knowing.

After not seeing Sesshomaru for a few months after that, her heart continued the chase for Inuyasha's heart. It all sadly ended that one night when she saw Inuyasha and Kikyo kiss, and Inuyasha whispering his words of forever protecting her, as he had told Kagome, minus that fact that he told Kikyo that he loved her and not Kagome.

Kagome was amazingly calm after that painful ordeal that happened for about the 5th time around. She looked up at the moon, which was half full and stopped as she heard a voice whisper, "You are now free to pursue your destiny fully..." The throaty female voice sounded surreal, and inhuman.

:::END OF FLASHBACK:::

Kagome dressed in a black tank top with gold flowers on the bottom of it, and a pair of jeans with red flip-flops. She kept her long raven hair down, and left a note for her family telling them that she left early.

She smiled happily, and stepped out into the onslaught of rain and sang as she made her way towards the well.

When she entered the well house, the well seemed to glow expectantly for her to come through. She smirked again, and jumped through gracefully.

When she reached the other side, the storm was more powerful, and it made Kagome happy, since she always like the way storms were so untamed and free, and she admired them jealously, since she felt that she had to be here to set things right, and not for any other reason anymore.

She simply stood there, in the middle of the opening, face up toward the sky, letting the rain slide down her face all the way down to her chest. She reveled in the feeling of the rain soaking her body, as if purifying her from all her emotional turmoil.

"You really shouldn't stand out in the rain like that," cooed a very familiar and evil voice.

Kagome instantly froze. "N-Naraku" choked Kagome, and she tried to find out where he was.

A pair of strong arms instantly engulfed her small frame; one covering her mouth, and the other wrapped around the lower half of her body. "You could get sick little miko, and that would make Inuyasha upset..." he then put a necklace on her, that was a small black chain.

Kagome got very pissed off, but got stung by the necklace when her miko powers were just about to become unleashed against Naraku.

"You like that?" purred Naraku into Kagome's ear, which made her shiver against her wishes. "Kikyo was kind enough to construct me one".

This last bit of information caused her to cry lightly as the thunder and rain encased her in a cocoon in which only her and Naraku were allowed into.
