The Plot

Naraku leaned against the wall of his castle. There was one more shard to find... obviously he sent one of his minions to find it, for he would never put himself in danger. But in the process of waiting, he grew quite bored. Kanna knelt before him. Her pale white hair tucked neatly behind each ear. Her vacant eyes held no emotions. In her hands was a small mirror. She said nothing as she waited for Naraku to speak.

"Show me Yami." His voice was chilling.

The mirror image change. Naraku watched the youkai. Yami was the one to find the shard. He wasn't a strong youkai, but he would fight to the death. He wasn't a spawn of Naraku, like Kagura and Kanna. He was a youkai that willing choose to serve Naraku to seek revenge on another youkai.

Naraku grew bored and gave a long sigh. He needed something to do... something to ploy. But what? He had already screwed with everyone's life... what is there left? "Show me the Inuyasha group."

The mirror fuzzed over Yami's image and cleared on a familiar group. They were sitting around a fire... all laughing while Inuyasha growled. Naraku's eyes grew cold as he watched the girl with raven black hair giggle and pat Inuyasha on the back. She spoke something causing Inuyasha to blush. "So he has replaced Kikyou?" Naraku let his lips curl into a smile.

"I think I have something to do, dear Kanna." Naraku's cold eyes held dark humor. "I'll make that hanyou suffer once more... I'll take that wench away. But how?" Naraku thought carefully as he watched the group. All stopped laughing as Inuyasha jumped to his feet and pulled out his sword.

Sesshoumaru came into view. Kagome tried to calm Inuyasha down but he wouldn't. Sesshoumaru watched Kagome intently never saying a word as she tried to calm Inuyasha down.

"Now there's an idea..." Naraku gave a chuckle as a plan came into mind.

"Inuyasha..." Kagome stood between the two brothers.

"Shut up Kagome! This has nothing to do with you." Inuyasha growled.

"I beg to differ dear brother..." Sesshoumaru finally speaking, with his indifferent voice. "As shocking as it might seem, I did not come here to speak to you..." Sesshoumaru voice capped with ice.

Inuyasha growled, showing his tiny fangs. Kagome turned to meet Sesshoumaru's cold heartless eyes. "Eh? Me?" She pointed to her chest, revealing a confused look.

"Move Kagome! He is just fuc--"

"Sit." Kagome said calmly. "What is it...er...Sesshoumaru."

"Naraku." Sesshoumaru spoke his name with pure hatred. "It has been awhile since I last saw... or even smelled his disgusting scent. Last time you told me his whereabouts... do you have anymore news?" Sesshoumaru kept a reasonable distant from Kagome. He remained cold and indifferent as he gazed at her.

Kagome gave a thoughtful look. "All I know is... Naraku is looking for the final shard. As are we. From what I heard he is in hiding and sent his youkai follower, Yami to look for the shard."

"Yami..." Sesshoumaru said the name as if it held memory. "Figures." He muttered. "That's all I needed to know." He turned sharply and began to walk away.

"Hey! Oye!" Inuyasha jumped to his feet. "Why didn't you just ask me that?" Inuyasha called after Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru stopped and slightly turned his head. "Because I needed an intelligent answer, you idiot." And then continued to walk again.

'Did Sesshoumaru just give a compliment... or was he just insulting Inuyasha?' Kagome thought as she watched Sesshoumaru shrink in the distance. 'He's change... not only is he handsome, but there is something alluring when I look in his eyes... Kagome blushed and put her hands to her red cheeks.

"Oy... Kagome... why are you blushing?" Inuyasha narrowed his eyes.

"Nothing. Let's go Inuyasha." She turned and smiled at him linking her arm with his. A tint of pink came to his cheeks.

"Uh... yeah let's get going." He stuttered.

"A very good idea indeed." Naraku chuckled. "Kagura." His chilling voice spoke her name with authority. "Bring me Kikyou."

"Yes sire." Kagura spoke from the shadows. Her blood red orbs narrowing at Naraku. 'What does he have up his sleeve now? She thoughts as she walked out of the castle.

"Heh... just wait Inuyasha." He his deep voice rumbling. "I will destroy you yet."

Kagome watched the flames from the fire. They seemed like they were dancing in the night air. A cool breeze blew from the west and ruffled Kagome's dark raven hair. Around her were the sleeping forms of her comrades and friends.

Inuyasha had perched himself on a tree. He gazed down at the girl who eyes seemed to be full in thought. Kagome... His mind whispered her name. He knew she loved him. And he knew he wanted her because she was the only part of Kikyou he had left, and he would be damned if someone else got her.

"Kikyou..." His whispered her name into the breeze. His arms ached to hold her. His fingers wanted to trace her gentle skin once more. He had never stopped loving her and he knew he never will. Kagome was the closest thing to Kikyou he had.

Kagome was deep in thought. She did a lot of that now. Soon she wouldn't be needed here. And when that time came, she needed to be ready to make a decision. She thought a lot about Inuyasha and if there was a future there. Part of her said no. He loved Kikyou and that's final. But another part didn't care. She just wanted somebody to love her.

'But will I ever find someone to love me for me?' She thought sadly. Kagome gave a long sigh. She lay on her sleeping bag and closed her eyes. She thought of Inuyasha. But her last conscious image before she fell asleep was of...Sesshoumaru.

"You rang?" Kikyou appeared in the doorway of the room Naraku was sitting at.

"Kikyou." He rose and walked to her. He cupped her chin. "How nice to see you." His voice crooned.

"Cut the crap. What do you want? Kagura said you might have a proposition for me." Kikyou tried to jerk her head away from his hands but he didn't loose grip.

"I do." He whispered in her ear. "But first... I haven't seen you in awhile..." He kissed the nip of her neck. Naraku pulled Kikyou in and shut the door behind her. Gently, he took of her miko outfit.

Kagura couldn't stand to be within earshot. "Disgusting." She muttered. "I wonder what Yami is doing. It has to be more interesting than this." Walking outside, she pulled a feather out of her hair. It grew large enough to where it could lift her in the air.

She looked down at the sights before her. There was Sesshoumaru with his human and servant. Rin, as she called herself, was merrily running around in circles chasing a butterfly. Jaken was watching her muttering about 'Stupid humans.' Sesshoumaru seemed to be thinking. His eyes, though cold, seemed distant. Kagura rose higher in the air, she didn't want to be seen by them.

Kikyou tied her sash around her miko outfit. Naraku was dressed already. His lips were in a twisted smile. Kikyou turned to him. Her chocolate brown eyes narrowing into slits as she gazed at him. "What do you want me for?"

"I have a plan." Naraku evil smiled was taunting and full of secrets. "For ripping apart that Kagome and Inuyasha, but this time, it shall be Kagome who hurts Inuyasha." Naraku leaned back and watched Kikyou's reaction.

"Tell me." She said, full of emotion. Finally she would get that rat away from HER Inuyasha and they could finally go to hell together.

Moonchild: It's a bit sketchy but it shall all be pieced together in the end. Forgive me. This is my first REAL canon universe.

Kagome: Just keep trying, Just keep trying, Just keep trying trying trying.

Inuyasha: Kagome SHUT UP! Your voice is annoying!

Kagome: Well SOR~RY! Inuyasha you just need to sit down and have nice sit on that couch, because it is always good to sit and think for awhile. In fact I heard that when you are sit-ing you relax a lot. So please just sit and relax.

Inuyasha: Ow...

Sesshoumaru: Inuyasha you are an idiot.
