All was silent this cold winter morning in January. Small white snowflakes flowed down from the sky gently landing upon all the surroundings outside. Suddenly within a small house an alarm could be heard sounding off making a woman groan. She had long black hair and a nice figure to any male's eye.
"Ugh.." She moaned and slowly turned to the alarm clock and slowly opened those soft brown eyes. In large blue numbers against a black background was the time on the small silver alarm clock. *Great... already 7:29* Kagome thought to herself as she rolled her eyes before widening them with realization. Quickly she would let out a small gasp as she struggled to get from under her sheets quickly. She darted from her own sleeping quarters to another room down he small hallway and quickly pushed open the door.
"Shippo!" She would yell darting over to the bed of a small boy with brownish orange colored hair. She shook him lightly till he opened his green-blue eyes and yawned.
"Mama.. I'm tired.." He cried. Kagome was mentally cursing herself for getting up so late. She lifted Shippou out of bed and set him down.
"Shippou but you'll be late for school and me work.. please just get ready for me?" She forced a smile wanted to hurry and get dressed. Shippou took a moment to rub his eyes then would finally nod to his mother and begin getting himself ready, his adoptive mother Kagome had left the 7 year old a set of cloths on his dresser so he'd match and save her more trouble to get ready. *Oh kami 20 years old and I have to go through all this trouble.. maybe I shouldn't of took Shippou in... Ok kami kami kami! What am I saying I love Shippou!* She continued to mentally argue with herself as she quickly slipped on a pair of jeans and a blue sweater then proceeded to brush her teeth and pour a bowl of cereal for her and Shippou after nearly tripping over herself on the way down the stairs.
When Shippou came down the stairs Kagome by then was finished eating and already rushing around the house like a mad woman to get her things together. This was her second week yet 4th day at her job and she didn't want to be late. Shippou ate quickly as he could not wanting to keep his adoptive mother waiting for him. Once done Kagome hastily threw the bowl in the sink and rushed her and Shippou to her black car. After strapping him in the back she leapt in the front taking off. Buyo, Kagome's calico like cat would be laying in the window watching Kagome and her adopted son hurry off in this cold winter weather.

In the Taisho home things went a bit different. Rin had been up since 6:45 getting ready. She ran a brush through her black strands of hair and smiled as she leapt down after adding a ponytail to the top right side of her hair as she usually did making a unique hairstyle that was all her own. The tiny girl had already eaten and was ready to start her day. She giggled and opened her door looking down the long mansion hallway. She went to the study and knocked lightly two or three times.
"Sesshomaru-sama! Rin is ready for school." She would call out and await his voice.
"Come in Rin. You know there is no need to knock." His tone was even and his voice calm and very collective. Rin would open the doors and enter to find a stoic man looking over some papers. He had long silver strands of hair that looked silkily soft. His eyes were golden which filled his complexion very well. He wore a black velvet jacket that was opened with a white shirt beneath, Sesshomaru also had a pair of expensive black jeans on. It was already 7:55 and Rin's school started at 8 on the dot but sesshomaru did not seem in the least bit concerned. He was proud of Rin, she was so smart and able to get ready on her own. She was very loyal as well. Rin ran over and gave her adoptive father a hug giggling a bit. Sesshomaru would pat her head and exit the room as Rin skipped after him and followed him to a limousine. He entered it after Rin.
"Jaken you know where to go.." Sesshomaru barely had to say anything before his loyal driver and servant took off in the white limousine.

After dropping Shippou off Kagome had hurriedly sped off and was rushing to get to work on time. While Shippo's school started at 8 Kagome had to be at work by 9. The worst was it took her a half n hour to get to work and she dropped Shippou off at school just barley making it, despite that there was traffic making Kagome very frustrated. She slammed her fist into the horn of her chars steering wheel at a white limo that was going at its own pace to get where it needed to go.
"Hurry up!" Kagome would yell even if the one driving the limo couldn't hear her.

Sesshomaru usually didn't drop Rin off but some days she would be privileged into being dropped off at school when he headed off for work, after all Mr. Taisho left early quite often. He shut his eyes as he sat comfortably on the white leather seat of the limo. Suddenly his peaceful rest was disturbed when he heard a loud honk. He would keep an emotionless blank expression upon his face. And rolled down one of his windows hearing a rushed woman yelling at him to hurry up.
"Slow down." Was all Sesshomaru told the limo driver as he peered out the window.
"In a rush are we? Well you can wait wench." Sesshomaru told her in a calm yet monotone voice.

Kagome would see the limo slow down and widened her eyes muttering something along the lines of 'jerk'. She then heard a voice from the back window of the limousine. Wench?! Who the hell did this man think he was.
"I am no wench Mr. and you shall not call me one!" She screamed. Usually Kagome wasn't like this and she had a lot more patience and was much kinder but she was already irritated to a large extent.
"My my what a temper." Kagome heard the voice say. It annoyed her how calm yet indifferent the voice sounded.
"May you honor me with your name you stoic jerk?" She said with sarcasm dripping from her lips.
"I'm hurt, but it is Sesshomaru Taisho." The first part of course was sarcastic for Sesshomaru really couldn't care for this wench at all. She was a waste of time. With those last words the limo turned a corner. Kagome was tempted to follow it but then she realized she was going to be late. That's when the name 'Taisho' hit her.
"Oh shit... I was arguing with the owner of Taisho corp.." Then something else hit her. 'That must be Inuyasha's brother." She muttered speaking of her friend who she had not seen in quite some time.

Finally Kagome pulled into her parking space at the veterinary clinic and walked to the front entering two large glass doors. She let out a moan as she signed in. Already her second week and she was beat, not to mention she only worked about 5 days so far. Mon-Fri to be exact and it was Monday once again. She walked to the front desk to check what she had to do today and who had set up appointments.
"Why miss Kagome, you look nice today." The man at the desk greeted in a friendly tone.
"Oh hey Hojo.." Kagome replied while laughing nervously for she had been so rushed she had almost forgot Hojo was at the front desk.
"Miss Kagome-" Hojo was cut off by Kagome who watched him with her soft chocolate brown eyes.
"Hojo please just call me Kagome, no need for unnecessary formalities." Kagome spoke in a kind tone. Hojo nodded.
"Yes mi-.. er Kagome.. our boss would like to see you. By the way would you like to go to the movies with me lat-..." Before Hojo could finish the last sentence Kagome had rushed through the back doors wondering what her boss could want. Kagome would reach a door at the end of a hallway and she would knock until she heard a voice saying 'Come in.' Kagome walked into the room calmly and stood before a large wooden desk with many things scattered about it.
"Ah Kagome you have arrived, by the way you should do something with that lovely hair of yours." The women would say. She appeared about 24 years old and had short black hair. She also had unusually red eyes and pretty large breasts. This woman always seemed to be worried about fashion and hair, not really the kind if person you'd think would be the boss of a veterinary clinic.
"Please sit." The woman would tell Kagome as she ran a comb through her hair even though it seemed perfect in every way. Kagome slowly walked over to a chair and sat, yes her boss did creep her out. Kagome would shift a bit uneasy in her seat as she waited.
"Yes Yura.. what do you want?" Kagome would finally ask to try and break the silence and perhaps her uneasiness as well. Yura turned her red eyes to Kagome and stopped filing her nails.
"My oh me! Sorry Kagome I almost forgot." Yura smiled then continued leaning on her desk as she did. "Kagome, Kagome, I am sorry but I am going to have to lay you off to... about two days instead of you working Monday thru Friday. We have more people then we need and instead of firing anyone we just gave people less days."
"But.." Kagome huffed wanting to speak against this decision but she really didn't have a choice. She knew less days of work meant less pay, how was she supposed to pay the bills on her small house? "Yura please reconsider.."
"Sorry Kagome, rules are rules hun."
"I can't believe this Yura I have bills to pay! You can't do this!" Kagome finally let her anger out and decided to argue.
Yura would smirk and actually climb upon her desk leaning towards Kagome and whisper. "My my, wouldn't it be ashamed if you got fired when your just beginning?" Yes that was what Yura intended to do threaten Kagome. Yura grinned as Kagome left in defeat.
Instead of yelling back Kagome stood and left the room. She'd have to get a second job, she didn't want to argue and lose her first. If things went well however she could simply quit. Kagome went through the rest of the day silent. She helped a few animals today which wasn't anything bad, the worst today had been two broken legs on a dog but that was about it.

Once Shippo was picked up and Kagome was home she decided to give her old friend Inuyasha a call. He was the co-owner of Taisho corp. Maybe he could perhaps help her in some way.. but then again Sesshomaru Taisho was the one she probably pissed off, she thought she did at least, but if she saw his face she'd know he couldn't care in the least. She took a deep breath before dialing.

Well I hoped you liked it. This is the first time I actually wrote a Sess/Kag fan fic that wasn't in the Feudal era. By the way I still gotta update my other two fan fics. I will try and write frequently. The more reviews I get the more I will try and write from now on. Well anyway remember to read, rate, and review.
