Prologue

A/n: Well i was inspired by the hatred between the two brothers, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru to bring about this story. This just might be one of best works possibly. Ill see where this leads me. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy writeing it. Dedicated To my loving Jamie. This story is for you and your Sesshomaru.

The night poured on at a endless slumber. The rain was cold, its droplets falling fast on little Shippou's head. He kept his distance watching the battle from a far, the ground rumbling with the clumsy steps of a fairly large Grizzley bear demon. It raged about, scareing the poor kitsune into a fright as he ran to hide up in the branches of a tree keeping his eyes tightly on the battle. Voices yelled out through the rain at almost a panic. A monk ran a franzy around the demon throwing sacred sutras towards it legs in a attempt to bring it to its knees. While a Woman familier with slaying of demons its size flew through the air upon a Fire blazed Neko-demon, throwing her huge Hirakotsu (ill correct it in later chapters) aimlessly, with no help from the rain blurring her sight, and the wind carrying her weapon off from the target. The hanyou, preferring to keep in the air at most was also having a time. The demon wouldnt stop thrashing, swinging its arms this and that, its talons cutting thruogh air and barely missing the hanyou everytime.

The team of allies were at a loss for so it seemed the demon contained a shard of the shikon no tama, giving its power a way boost then normal. But the problem was they couldnt locate it. They were argueing the whole time of the battle, trying to decide where it was which was effecting there teamwork to kill it.

"Inuyasha!!!!" The monk yelled in desperation, coming to a halt, keeping his staff at bay for any loose attacks from there enemy. " Inuyasha this is impossible!!!Without Kagome we cant see the shard!! Were getting no where with this!"

The hanyou, had to agree with Miroku. They were getting no where. None of them were sure where it was anymore for the demon seemed to use equal and big amount of power from all of his limbs. His whole body posed as a threat. Inuyasha landed beside the monk in irrtation. " Damn kagome. We need her here!! When is she ever going to understand that!!" Miroku nodded. " It does seem that whenever we need Kagome her not being here is a inconvience. We will just have to make due" The demon exterminater from above looked down upon them, diving down with her cat-demon, still keeping air-born, stopped beside Inuyasha. " Inuyasha what do we do? We cant retreat. It has a shard."

The half-demon growled at teh nuisance before him. The bear demon roared out into the night. Its eyes became a pierceing red as it found its opponents quickly and slammed a fist down at the three. They easily dodged his attack the monk taking off under ihs other arm while Inuyasha and Sango took the skys. "Sango!!! Can you hit its legs!!??" Inuyasha yelled landing down at the top of a tree then rebounding off it. Sango nodded and flew back while lowing her level of height off the ground to make sure she succeeded in at least making the demon buckle at the knees. "Hirakostsu!!!!!!" She swung the weapon with much power but grace as it took off spinning itself giong off to the side of the demon then heading at it from the left making contact with the back of its knees from left to right over then Sango caught it as she flew over fast, Taking her Cat-demon and steering it straight up and outta the way. The Demon yelped out in screeching pain as it came down, its hands falling flat to the ground, holding it up as pillars.

From the tree Shippou cheered in excitment for Sangos good accuracy. " Yay Sango!! you did it!!!" Inuyasha landed a few feet from the bear-demon placeing out his sword ready to attack, pointed straight at the demons head. " Dont count your chickens before they hatch yet Shippou!!! Its not over yet!!"

The grizzley bear-demon's head stayed low faceing the ground. The trees, the ground, even the sky seemed to shake as it raised its head, its mouth wide open with a ball of bright light getting bigger as it gained energy. Inuyasha growled out as he watched, planning in his mind carefuly when to land his attack. Then useing the ground as base to pull from it blasted the energy out right at Inuyasha, threatening to blaze him afire. Inuyasha was unfazed. He grinned. "Kaze no kizu!!!!" Pulling his blade back quickly and then swiping it fast at the demon causeing a rush, a surge of power. Bigger and brighter then the bear-demons attack it self, Charged out at his attack. Meeting its blast in the process, causeing a explosion in mid air knocking everyone back flying. Sango was nearly blown back while Miroku went flying farther back behide the demon into the trees. Inuyasha was smashed straight through the ground causeing a Good indented scar into the earth. Inuyasha moaned in pain, curseing himself under his breath for being so careless. Shippou on the other hand was blown straight outta the tree and went and got slammed head first into a rock, and he slid down with a cry of despair.

Shipou layed there on his back till a image towered over his small body. Before he knew it, two soft hands pulled him up into a comforting embrace " Oh dear Shippou are you ok?!" Shippou looked up into hte eyes of a worried human miko. Her aura shining bright with compassion for the little kitsune. Her clothes were damp with water from the rain. Shippou jumped up in her arms hugging her body to his, resting his head on her chest he sighed in contentment and cheer. "Kagome your back!!!!" Kagome smiled at him then glanced over at the battlefield. The blast had also seemed to even knock the Bear-demon down. It was begining to move and Kagome decided now was her chance. " Hold still Shippou!!" She placed Shipou on the ground then grabbed for her bow and arrows which she carelessly layed on the ground near her pack.

The rain was coming down harder and lightening lit the cloudy sky. Thunder crashed as Kagome darted toward the demon stopping stopping a few feet from it. She raised her bow and arrow pointed straight at it. Before releaseing her arrow she waited for it to stand. The bear-demon struggled coming to its feet but finally made a full postion standing straight up. Kagome already sensed tha shard. It layed deep in the center of its belly. The demon after taking a min to see its surroundings caought attention with the miko who had her arrow pointed and ready. The arrow Tip-pointed blade glimmerd with the riseing power of her Sacred arrow. The black demons pupils widened in fear.

"Die." The words from her mouth was the last things it ever heard before being pierced in the center by her Pink arrow. It tore straight through the demons stomach flying through trees taking out every tree in its pass before subdueing power inside the earth as it made its stop. The demon was fully absorbed by the glowing power the arrow had left and therre for its body desinegrated down to dust. Leaving two jewel shards laying down in dusts pile.

During all this Sango had landed to tend to Miroku but before realizing Kagome had arrived, the miko had shot her arrow killing the Bear-demon taking her only 30 secs what took them all 30 mins just to get it down. Miroku and Sango had watched in amazement at how it died so quickly. Kagome let out a *phew* of relief and strided over to the pile of ash and picked up the two shards, with mere touch purifying them back to there once light purple color. She stode at awe and wonder stareing up at the strange glow it let off, raiseing it above from her face up at the clouds.

Inuyasha after hearing the dieing gasp of the Demon bear jumped up to his feet running to see what had happened. He came up to see Kagome entranced with the jewel fragments and came to a complete stop. He could do nothing but stare at her. Absolutly shook back by her sudden determination she had showed. Quietly very proud of her but wouldnt let know that. His face turned into a snarl as he got into his angry stance he often took. " Where the hell have you been!!!"

Sango and Miroku sighed in irribility at Inuyasha's uneeded insult for it was Kagome who killed the demon. But decided to stay quiet. Kagome glanced over at Inuyasha and smiled. " Hehehehehehe....srry...im late." Inuyasha's fury rose higher. " Damn right late!!!!! Nice timing!!"

"Shut up Inuyasha!!!" Shippou yelled running to kagome's arms and embraceing her loveingly." She did you a favor of retrieveing the shards so you just keep quiet!!" Kagome blinked at Shippous bravery then smiled and nuzzled Shippou to her. Inuyasha growled at the little kitsune and made a lunge at him " Why you little-" "Sit." At Kagomes command Inuyasha hit the ground hard, at the same time sloshing mud across the front of his body thanks to the pouring rain.

Sango and Miroku made there way up to Kagome in good mood." Kagome-can right on time!!! good job!!!" Sango complimented her, embraceing her, smashing Shippou in between them. Kagome laughed as she let go of Shippou so he could jump down and breath. Sango pulled back laughing. " Oh im srry Shippou!" Shippou shook his dead , seeing spinning stars as he waddled side ways over to the neko-demon kirara. Kirara transformed from her big form to her kitten form quickly meeting Shippou at same height, useing her head to prop him up.

Miroku walked over and happily greeted Kagome. " Yes it is nice you decided to join us. And at such a great time of need to. Im quite impressed of your archery work on that demon!"

"Why thank you Miroku, from where im from ive been taking classes for it and been trying to improve my range and accuracy."

" Hello!!! You didnt do all the work!!!" Inuyasha yelled finally being able to stand from his plot on hte ground. Kagome laughed then turned to Sango. " Oh yes Sango thank you for help weaking it!" She said off with a cheerful smile knowing very well it had been inuyasha but getting a laugh from everyone as he yelled out in anger. " What the hell Kagome!! i pulled it to its knees!!!" Everyone burst into worse laughter, all at same time thinking Inuyasha took things way to seriously.

Kagome turned and patted his arm" There there Inuyasha im just joking with you! At least we got hte shards!! And im back so no worries!!" Inuyasha turned and began to walk away in the rain. " Feh. Whatever."

The group ran as quickly as they could towards Priestess Kaedes village. It hadnt been far from where they had sparred with there recent enemy so it took them no time at all till they were passing the well and heading on down the hill toward the entrance.

The fire crackled in the middle of the hut. The sound of people slurpling away at there soup, from the brew Kaede had cooked up in her pot over the fire. All of them sat in a cirlce around it, getting as close as they could for the fires warmth without getting burned. All of them were wrapped up tight in blankets listening as Sango explained there fight that had occured not so long ago.

The whole time Inuyasha kept close eye on Kagome. The whole time she had said not a word. But merely siped her soup and stared in the red flames of heat that was before her. He wonderd if she was botherd by something, for this attitude was unlike her. She was calm. Not the kinda Calm she normally was. But in a dangerous calm. As if she was to explode any moment.

"Inuyasha? hello? whats wrong?" Mirokus voice pulled him outta his thoughts as he glanced over to the monk. "What?" "We were discussing of the slight rumor thats been going around"

Inuyasha's Ears perked up." Oh really and what is that?" Miroku looked back at Kaede as she gave a nod then back to Inuyasha with a tone of seriousness in his voice. "Well, it would seem...Inuyasha.....your brother...has gone missing from his lands. Not a trace of him can be found anywhere."

Inuyasha sat straight up at mention of his brother" Oh really how so?" "There saying that Young Rin and master Jaken have gone out to look for him. He just up out and left his castle but a few weeks ago. Lord Jaken assumeing that this was truley normal of Sesshomaru's status didnt bother to question so waited for his Lords return. Sesshomaru has yet to return Inuyasha."

Inuyasha snarled at the comment and just looked away in disgust. "As if i care Miroku. He can take a flying leap. I hope hes dead."

Miroku made not a sound at this. For he knew but the answer. " Inuyasha, he just might be."

Inuyasha's eyes shot open. 'What.....' He shot back around to Miroku. " That cant be!!! Not Sesshomaru!! Notta chance!!!" He was in utter shock to think Sesshomaru dead. I mean he had always compared Sesshomaru to his high ranked known father. Not only that. If Sesshomaru was to die, Inuyasha had planned it to be by his own hands.

" The monk does not lie Inuyasha. It would seem. This is the talk of the villages everywhere." Kaede made her statement clear and understood. She calmy sipped her tea as if they were discussing something as much as importantance as a chicken laying its egg. But actually, the conversation held a deeper greater length to it then known.

During this whole time Kagome became alittle shocked, while her other half was decideding on whether to tell them or not. She prefered not and kept her self quiet.

But Inuyasha on the other hand was lost far worst in his of most deepest thoughts...........
