Chapter 1: The Intruder

Hello...This story is written by the almighty Lord of the Western Lands: Sesshoumaru, and his ward: RiN. We are trying to do something a little different by co-writing a story. All of the odd chapters are written by Sesshoumaru and all of the even chapters are written by RiN...I hope you enjoy our story...if you don't then Daijoubu Desu (it's alright), because Sesshoumaru is going to chase you with his Toukijin...*snickers and laughs evilly*...just kidding, so iku zo (let's go)!

Chapter 1: The Intruder

Kagome sat up in bed. She looked around her room. Everything was in place, but something was different. She climbed out of bed and looked out the window. It was dark outside and raining very hard. The tree outside her window slammed against the wall of the house. Kagome screamed and then mentally scolded herself for being silly. Then she heard a knock on her door and almost screamed again. She tiptoed over and cautiously opened the door to find Souta standing there, baby blanket in hand, crying. She hugged him and picked him up. She whispered in his ear that everything was going to be all right. Kagome ran down the hall then slowed. Just outside the kitchen window stood a huge demon. Kagome stood in horror for a minute then remembered her little brother in her arms. She ran back upstairs into her parents' bedroom. She laid Souta next to her mother.

She raced through the house to her room. She grabbed her clothes and pulled them on. Then, she grabbed her bow and arrows. Kagome cautiously walked downstairs and slid out the back door. She ran to the shrine and screamed into it as loud as she could. Inuyasha told her that he would come if she screamed into the well. 'Where is he?', she thought. The demon heard her and stalked over to the well. It ripped off the roof and flung Kagome into the grass. Kagome gasped at the pain that ripped through her. It was excruciating. The demon picked her up in his big, furry hand and laughed evilly. He threw her up into the air. Before Kagome landed anywhere, she let the darkness take her.
