The revised First Chapter of Can't Buy My Love! Sorry, guys, I kind of abandoned you all! Actually... I just forgot that I had posted on this site, lol. Sorry! So here we go!

"C'mon, Kagome!" A woman lying on the floor whined with her face behind a magazine. "You have to go with me!"
Kagome snorted and rolled her eyes from atop the bed. "Excuse me? I don't have to do anything."
"Ok, fine, you don't have to physically do anything, just go with me!"
Kagome rolled her upper body to hang off the edge of the bed down to her life-long best friend. "Sango, get serious. I'm not going to some auction to bid on a date with some of the worlds richest pricks."
Sango widened her eyes disbelievingly. "Kagome!" She hissed. "These are not your ordinary rich pricks! These are, 'The most eligible bachelors in the world!'" She quoted from the Glamour Magazine.
"No."
Sango groaned and sat up, resting her arms on her roommate's bed. "Oh come on! Just think, if you got together with one of the old geezers, you could inherit all his money when he croaks!"
Kagome laughed. "You're sick, you know that? I am not interested in a guy right now, no less his money. And even if I were, I'd like a guy who could at least get it up, without Viagra."
"I bet'cha he could get it up." Sango grinned, shoving the magazine in Kagome's face.
Kagome studied the glossy page in front of her. 'Sesshoumaru Taisho, world's most eligible bachelor.' "Total beach boy." Kagome said taking the magazine and holding it for herself.
In the picture there was a tall man with platinum blonde, almost white long hair reaching almost to his thighs, and wearing nothing but black surfer shorts. He was standing on the beach in the setting sun with the waves crashing in the back.
"What! Are you kidding me?" Sango scoffed grabbing the magazine and staring at the picture with glazed eyes. "I mean, he's completely gorgeous. Look at that hair, I bet it's soft and thick... and those eyes, they're the most amazing color of gold. And that body, oh and what a body it is..."
"Alright, alright. That's enough." Kagome sighed reaching out to take the magazine from her friend.
Sango yanked it out of her reach. "No, I'm not done yet."
Kagome reached out again with an irritated smile. "Sango, give it back." Her attempt fell short again.
"No it's mine."
"Sango... I just... want to see it-- Aagh!" Kagome grunted reaching so far that she fell off the bed and onto the floor.
Sango snorted with laughter and held the book to her chest. "Come with me then. You don't have to bid or anything, just come with me. I don't want to go alone. Plus, all proceeds go to charity."
Kagome folded her hands in her lap and let out a long sigh.
"Yes!" Sango grinned and tackled her friend in a hug. "Thank you so much!"
"Yeah, yeah. So when is it?" Kagome groaned.
"Four o'clock."
"Okay, what date?"
Sango twiddled her thumbs nervously and muttered something unintelligible.
Kagome frowned. "Sorry, I didn't hear you, when?"
"Today." Sango said looking to the floor.
"Sango I can't go today, I have to work and so do you!"
"So? We'll quit. This job was just for fun anyways."
"No, Sango, this job was to pay our rent. I can't quit, not to go out and buy a rich date that I can't afford in the first place."
"Kagome, we both know I have more then enough to pay the rent on this place. Just let me pay for it."
"I can't do that and you know it. I don't take hand outs, I work for everything I get. I work to pay half of this rent. I'm sorry. Besides, I like my job."
Sango scoffed and looked at Kagome skeptically. "You're honestly going to sit there and tell me that you enjoy working in a music store called 'Suicidal Badger' while sitting in a damp, moldy, smelly building, where the music is too loud, selling CD's to people we would hope to never run into on the streets alone?"
"Well..." Kagome groaned gnawing her lower lip.
"Alright, if that's not incentive to quit, I have two words for you: Naraku Kuromori."
Kagome shuddered at the name. Naraku was the owner of Suicidal Badger, and absolutely the creepiest man alive. He was apparently some rich musician with ties into the music world; though that didn't lessen how uncomfortable the girls felt around him. When they were working, Naraku would just sit and watch them. One time when Sango had asked if he needed anything, he simply said no and kept staring.
After a long pause Kagome groaned. "Fine. But we better get other jobs."
Sango grinnned in excitement and threw herself at her friend again. "Oh thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! How can I ever repay you?"
Kagome smirked. "Well, for one, you can call Satan and tell him we're quitting."

Two men sat in a stretch limo in complete silence, both looking out their respective windows. "I appreciate what you're doing for this event Sesshoumaru, donating all the proceeds to charity. That's very big of you." A man with shoulder length brown hair tied in a pony tail and in dark navy blue suit said turning to his companion.
"Flattery will get you no where." Sesshoumaru replied keeping his gaze out the window.
"I wasn't trying to flatter you Maru, I was simply stating the truth. Donations are down 11 percent since this time last year."
"You're not one for formalities, are you?" Sesshoumaru stated finally turning to his left to face the other man.
"Maru, I've known you longer than anyone except your own mother; back in the day when you still wet the bed and cried during scary movies." Miroku said with a smirk.
Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes dangerously. "Indeed."
"Aw, c'mon, don't be such a stiff. You go, wave to your adoring fans, signs a few autographs, and your part is done. At least you'll get something out of this whole deal." Miroku said elbowing him in the side.
"Enlighten me."
"Well, you'll get the satisfaction knowing that you'll be contributing to the well being of children all over the world..."
Sesshoumaru gave him a blank stare.
"And... you'll get to go on a date with some beautiful young woman with long hair, and a round, firm--" At Sesshoumaru's glare he stopped and looked out the window. "Um, probably. I mean, I don't know what kind of woman is going to bid on you, I just..."
"That is enough Miroku." Not that his schedule was hectic enough, he had to have a pervert for a manager. He closed his eyes and rubbed his index and middle fingers in a circular motion on his temples. "How long will this take?"
"Well, there are," Miroku dug through his briefcase until he found the auction information. "27 bachelors being auctioned off tonight." As if reading Sesshoumaru's thoughts he answered his next unvoiced question. "And you, it would appear, are lucky number 27."
Sesshoumaru glared at his manager. "What is so lucky about being 27th? That is last."
Miroku's eyes widened before returning to normal. "Well, I don't know. It's just an expression."
"Also, if I am not required until the end, why are we going now?"
"Because, they requested for all contestants to be there early for measuring and sign in. Mr. Myouga also wanted to go over all the details of your performance." Miroku answered, remembering the conversation he had had earlier this morning.
"Performance?" Sesshoumaru raised a delicate eyebrow.
"Yes, it will be somewhat like a model shooting. You've done many of those before. You walk when they tell you, where they tell you, and how they tell you. You have nothing to be nervous about."
"This Sesshoumaru is not, nor is he ever nervous. I simply want to be prepared for when I arrive."
Miroku sighed and looked out the window. "If I didn't know better, I would say that you were a very difficult person."
"I am."
Both stared out their windows for another 10 minutes before Miroku broke it again. "We're almost there."
Sesshoumaru remained quiet.
The approaching sound of screaming fans was enough to tell him that he was only moments away from being swarmed by half of the female population. 'How I hate these females.'
If he thought the fans were loud when he was inside the car, he certainly got a surprise when he stepped out.
"Look! It's Sesshoumaru!"
"Oh my God, there he is!"
"We love you Sesshy!"
Sesshoumaru almost smirked at the last one. He scanned the crowds to find what he expected would be a group of girls around the age of sixteen, but was surprised when he spotted a clutter of four women who looked to be in their twenties.
The majority of them were smiling and waving frantically at him, screaming for autographs and pictures. He noticed one, the smallest out of the four didn't seem particularly happy to be there. She had her arms crossed over her chest and was scowling towards the ground.
He sauntered over to the group staring directly at the outcast.
"Oh my God, you guys, you guys!" He heard one of them squeal. "He's coming over here!"
"Good afternoon ladies." He greeted with a charming smile at all four.
"Hi." They all answered with a deep blush, all except for the one. She hadn't even looked up yet.
"Would any of you like an autograph?" He asked, looking mostly at the shortest.
"Yes." They all answered wistfully. She still refused to look up. He signed all of their magazines, posters and books that they had of him, and then turned to the other girl with a smirk. "You have yet to acknowledge me. If you raised your eyes you might know who was talking to you."
She finally looked up at with what he discovered were stunning sapphire eyes. "I know who you are, we all do."
Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow. "Would you like anything signed?"
She gave him a very fake smile. "I'm good, thanks."
Sesshoumaru frowned, not knowing what to do for a moment before turning with a smirk towards some other girls. After his back was turned he heard the girls berate their quiet friend.
"Kagome! What did you do that for? You could have at least been nice to him, what's the matter with you? ..."
'Kagome. So that's her name.' His musings were interrupted my Miroku coming up beside him. "So what was all that about?" Miroku asked looking back to the still bedazzled women.
Sesshoumaru smirked inwards. "I was merely doing what you told me to."

"So do you think one of us will actually get a date with Sesshoumaru?" A girl with long red hair asked from the back seat of the CR-V.
"I don't know, I mean, between the 4 of us, we must have a fairly good chance." Another girl sitting in the front said turning her body to face the others.
"Ayame, Rin, listen. None of us are going to go on a date with what's-his-name Taisho. It's ridiculous. I don't even know why I agreed to come alon-"
"Oh not this again." Sango groaned from the drivers' seat and squeezed the steering wheel. "Kagome, it's not like you have to bid on him, or anyone else for that matter. You're just coming along for... moral support." Ayame said with a giggle.
"Moral support?" Kagome scoffed. "If my opinion meant anything, we would be at work right now!" She said motion between herself and Sango. "And another thing: what are the chances of actually getting him, or any one else? Gods, unless you all have millions to blow on a date with a guy you'll never see, then by all means go ahead. There are bound to be thousands of women there!"
"Yeah, but don't worry, everything will work out."
Kagome looked at her blankly, obviously confused.
Rin sighed. "Kagome, in order to attend these events, one must be of certain what you might call... financial status. And with Sango and I, we were able to pull a few strings. A couple phone calls here, some white lies there, and boom! We're in!"
Kagome sighed and rested her head against the window, tuning out her friends' mindless chatter. They were now onto some other guy who probably had enough money to buy their hearts with his digitally enhanced smile.
Ayame's voice ended her musings as they pulled to a stop at a red light. "Hey, Kagome, look out your window."
Kagome did as she was told; searching for what Ayame was showing her. "What? There are people, street vendors and some little café." She kept looking up and down the street confused.
"No Kags, in the window of the café!" Sango said with a grin.
Kagome looked back to the café to see a small sign in the window.
Wanted. Full/Part time waitress. Must be of legal age to apply; See store manager.
'That might be fun.' Kagome turned to get a better look while wondering how it is that everyone saw the sign except her, and she was closest to the window! "How much time do we have?"
Sango tore through the intersection to turn right from the left hand lane, effectively cutting off traffic and causing quite a jam. "Enough to get you a job!"
Everyone screamed and hung on for dear life as Sango drove like a bat out of hell down the street and into the parking lot. "Alright. Here we are!" Sango chirped as she hopped out and stared at the sign above the door, "The Wolf Den."
The other three girls sat for a moment in a white knuckled grip before taking deep breaths to calm their racing hearts.
"Will you all hurry up; we're on a tight schedule here. We have 13 minutes, let's move!" Sango hollered as they were just stepping out of the car.
The bell hanging from the door chimed as the four girls walked in and sat at their chosen booth. Just as Kagome was going to go find someone, one of the employees, a tall man around the age of 25, with long brown hair pulled into a high pony-tail walked up to the table with a notebook in his hand. "What can I get for you ladies?"
"Green Tea."
"Just a regular coffee please."
"Hot Chocolate."
"Um... A triple grande, one pump vanilla, non-fat, extra hot Maple Macchiatto." Kagome recited with a smile.
Ayame Sango and Rin looked at Kagome with wide eyes.
"What?"
The three broke out laughing while Kagome blushed and sank in her seat.
"Sure thing." The waiter said with a chuckl before walking off to get their orders.
"That man is cute!" Ayame said sighing as he walked away.
Sango tilted her head to the side. "He's got a nice backside too..."
Kagome sighed and rolled her eyes. 'Right from one guy to the other.'
"Oh, I'm so excited." Sango grinned referring to the auction with her hands balled in fists.
Rin and Ayame snickered. "You, need to calm down." "Yeah, if that man gets within 10 feet of you, you're going to hyperventilate and pass out." Ayame added before laughing.
Kagome smiled at the last comment. 'I guess this won't be that bad. This might even turn out to be kind of fun.'
The girls' chatter was interrupted when the waiter came back and set their drinks down. "Is there anything else I can get for you?"
"Yeah, actually can we speak with the manager please?" Sango asked.
"Be my guest." He said with a charming smile.
The four girls sat uncomfortably while the guy kept standing there with his arms folded over his chest. After a few moments of silence the guy dropped his arms. "So is there anything I can do for you girls, or shall I just get your bill?"
Ayame huffed at the ignorant employee and slapped a ten-dollar bill on the table. "No, that'll be all." She, Rin and Sango got up from the table and headed for the door.
Kagome stood from the booth but didn't leave with the rest. "You guys, wait, he is th-"
"Yeah, Kagome's right. We should get the guys information so we can talk to the manager." Ayame frowned from the doorway cutting Kagome off. "Hey you," She called pointing to the waiter beside Kagome.
"Yeah?" He asked suppressing a smirk.
"What's your name?"
"Kouga Wolf."
"What's his number?" Sango entered the interrogation while writing everything down on a napkin, not picking up the connection between this guys name and the café.
"Who?"
"The manager, so I can report you!" Ayame sneered.
"Oh, 909-3325." Kouga recited.
Ayame rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "Um, thanks for being so cooperative."
"Hey, no problem. I'll do anything I can to make my business run better."
"Your business-What?" She looked at him with wide eyes.
"Yes, The Wolf Den, it's been in my family for 4 generations." He said full of pride.
Sango opened her mouth to say something, only to close it a second later realizing she had nothing to say.
"Why didn't you say something!" Rin interjected, coming to Sango and Ayame's side while Kagome stood to the side silent.
"So this is my fault now?" He asked in disbelief.
"Well... yes! You could have told us you were the manager!" Sango defended.
"Well wasn't my standing her enough?"
"No! We just figured you were some creepy guy who liked to stare at groups of smart, beautiful, young women!" Rin cried as she pointed her finger at him.
"Speak for yourselves." Kagome muttered.
"Beautiful, I'll admit that one. Young, obviously. But smart? That's giving yourselves a little too much credit." Kouga snapped finally after taking too much.
"Excuse me?" Sango asked in a dangerously low voice.
"Man, you're brain dead, and deaf? Unbelievable! At least little miss cutie over there has enough sense to-"
"Hey don't bring me into this!" Kagome yelled, cutting him off. "I only came here for a coffee, and possibly a job."
"A job?" Kouga asked looking utterly bewildered.
"Yes." Kagome sighed. "I am currently out of a job, and when I saw your sign I was hoping the manager-him being you- could solve my problem. But for heaven's sake, if this is how you run your business, I'll find somewhere else." Kagome stated calmly and walked out of the café.
"Wait!" Kouga yelled running after her, leaving the other three girls with their mouths hanging open. "Wait," He said again taking hold of her arm. "I'm sorry about that. I don't normally lose my temper like that but with Miss. Hot-Head and her accomplices in there, I just... Agh." He sighed dragging a hand down his face.
Kagome smiled and shook her head.
"But you really wanted to work here?"
"Yes, we did." She answered.
"We? Who's we?"
Kagome giggled. "Sango, Miss. Hot-Head and I."
Kouga's eyes widened and pointed his thumb behind him. "Her?"
"Yes, and if you apologize to her, I'm sure she'll still want to. I promise she's not like that all the time."
"Good, I don't think I could handle getting my face ripped off like that again." Kouga said with a smirk
"We really haven't been formally introduced." Kagome realized cocking her head to the side.
"No, we haven't."
Kagome held out her hand. "Kagome Higurashi."
"Kouga Wolf." He said taking her hand in his and kissing the top.
Kagome blushed and took her hand back. "So, when do we start?"
_________________________________________
All the girls were back in the car and headed to the museum that the auction was taking place in. "So Kagome, by the blush that was, and still is by the way, on your cheeks; I'd say you have a crush on your new boss." Ayame said with a giggle.
"I do not!" Kagome shot back a little too quickly.
"Well, whether you like him or not, he likes you." Rin added with a knowing smirk. "We saw that boy smile at you as we pulled out."
Kagome groaned. "Whatever. Aren't you all supposed to be all giddy over some bleach blonde rich guy or something?"
Sango grinned mischievously from the front passenger seat. - On a vote of 3 to 1, it was decided that no one wanted Sango to drive anymore - "I am going to get that man. I will buy his love if I have to. And God knows I have enough money to succeed." She said jokingly.
Kagome snorted and rolled her eyes.
After 20 minutes of giggling, gossiping, teasing and arguing, they finally arrived at their destination. "C'mon Kagome! You can't honestly say you've never dreamed of being with a handsome famous man." Sango grinned as she got out of the passenger door, wincing when Kagome slammed hers.
"You must have at least dreamed of one of them naked." Ayame giggled, adding to the conversation and linking arms with Sango.
"You guys are impossible!" Kagome huffed marching a few feet ahead of the others.
Rin giggled and latched herself onto the human chain as well. "Seriously Kagome, there's nothing wrong with it. We've all pictured at least one actor or some other famous guy being intimate with ourselves."
"Not me."
"You're going to be an old prig you know." Sango snickered.
Kagome glared and slapped Sango's arm. "You guys, I really want to go home." Kagome said trudging behind Sango.
Sango scoffed and waved her off as she hauled Kagome by her left arm through all of the screaming fan girls. "Quit whining."
Kagome relented with a roll of her eyes and walked along with Sango. "Where are we going anyways?"
"To the front, so we can see better." Rin answered from behind Kagome who was holding onto her right hand with Ayame holding Rin's right hand at the end.
"Ugh, what do we have to see? It's not like he's going to waltz over here and offer us all autographs and pictures." Kagome sighed.
Sango whipped around to where she was inches from Kagome's face. "Don't make me turn this train around. You're ruining the experience for all of us, so do me, Rin, and Ayame a favor and-"
"Shut up!" The other two chimed in.
Kagome gawked back with a look of shock on her face and could only walk along numbly, mulling over what just happened.
"There, see? That wasn't so hard was it?" Sango smiled as she and the other three took their places right at the guard rail.
Kagome narrowed her eyes. "I didn't say-"
"Look! It's Sesshoumaru!" Ayame screamed overtop of Kagome and pointed towards the black stretch limo that just pulled up. A sudden roar of screaming girls erupted, causing Kagome's eardrums feel like they were about to burst.
Kagome looked at the black limousine then back to Ayame. "How do you kno-"
"Oh my God, there he is!" Rin screeched cutting her off again as Sesshoumaru stepped out.
Kagome scowled and snapped her head in the direction that the girls were all looking.
"We love you Sesshy!" Sango, Rin and Ayame all yelled at the top of their lungs as he started walking down the red carpet. They squealed even louder when he looked their way.
That was it. Kagome was mortified. She stared in horror as the man that was causing all this commotion walked straight towards them. Kagome glared at her friends before staring at the pavement.
"Oh my God, you guys, you guys! He's coming over here!" Ayame cried, grinning like an idiot, though her expression matched the one of her associates.
'Dumb, dumber, and... dumber-er' Kagome thought sardonically.
"Good afternoon ladies." The white-haired man greeted with a charming smile.
Kagome noticed her three friends blush a deep crimson. Could this get any more mbarrassing? "Hi." They answered weakly.
"Would any of you like an autograph?" He asked in his smooth voice.
She kept her eyes to the ground, but could feel his heated gaze right on her. Concrete was a truly facinating object when one stared enough.
"Yes." The three love-struck women answered.
"You have yet to acknowledge me. If you raised your eyes you might know who was talking to you." His cocky voice announced, still looking at her.
Hm... boxing his ears suddenly seemed more interesting than the ground. 'Oh I'll acknowledge you alright,' Kagome looked up and narrowed her eyes. "I know who you are, we all do."
He raised an eyebrow. "Would you like anything signed?" He asked in that assuming tone
Kagome scoffed on the inside, but put a fake smile on. "I'm good thanks." She felt a small amount of victory when she saw that fleeting moment of confusion.
He nodded his head with a smirk and turned away to wave to a couple more screaming fan girls as she rolled her eyes and folded her arms.
"Kagome!" Sango hissed. "You could have at least been nice to him. What's the matter with you?"
"Did you hear him?" Kagome defended pointing in his direction.
"Yes, he asked if you wanted an autograph!" Sango said with her hands fisted on her hips.
"No, he didn't ask, he assumed I wanted one because he's Sesshoumaru Taisho." She sneered the last part with a crinkled nose.
"Yeah well-"
"Hey, knock it off!" Rin cut in with a frown. "It's not that big of a deal. God..."
"Let's go in and see what starting bid is." Ayame grinned, effectively bringing Sango out of her spat with Kagome and smiling brightly. Ayame and Sango linked arms and walked to en entrance leaving Kagome to scowl darkly at her back.
"C'mon." Rin said with a gentle smile and took Kagome's hand in hers.
"You have to admit though; he was pretty cocky..." Kagome said looking to her friend.
"God, was he ever." Rin agreed with a giggle.
