chapters 1-8

'I can't believe him! How could he betray me like that!' Kagome was sobbing into her hands near the bone eaters well thinking about what she had seen earlier.

-Flashback-

"Kikyo I love you and I want to be with you forever." whispered Inuyasha into the dead women's ear.

"But what of my reincarnation."

"She means nothing to me she is merely a jewel shard detector. Why have a copy when I can have the original."

"Inuyasha you don't need her my love, you have me kill her and give me back my soul we can hunt the shards together."

"Become my mate and I will do anything for you but we must wait to kill her during the final battle with Naraku or the others will protect her. If we wait then the foolish ningens will believe that it was him who killed her."

At this point Kagome couldn't take any more so she ran until she reached the well.

-End Flashback-

Her sorrow over the betrayal forgotten kagome now only felt anger and pity towards the hanyou. Anger because he felt he could kill her and pity because she would kill him. (A/N: Kagome has complete control over her miko powers in this fanfic she just chooses not to use them.)

All of a sudden the silence was penetrated when a loud scream filled the air. Kagome forgot about the hanyou and went to help whoever was in trouble. When she got to a clearing she was filled with a whole new anger when she saw a demon attacking an old women who had no way to defend herself. Her troubles forgotten she called forth her powers to form a sword of pure light that had the power to destroy a demon with a single scratch. When she saw the demon bring back it's claws to kill the old women she rushed forward and thrust the sword into it's back and watched as the demon turned to dust and the sword reabsorbed into her body.

"Thank you my child I have been searching for one worthy of a gift and I have finally found you." The old lady said as she stood up.

"I didn't help you expecting something in return. You don't have to give me anything."

"Oh but I want to." She said as she began to glow "What do you wish for more than anything else in the world?"

"I want to become a demon so that no one would think me weak again and so that I will always have the power to protect my friends."

"If you wish it, it will be so." An orb of raven blue light shot from the old lady's hands and flew into kagome.

Kagome felt a searing pain as her bones changed and became longer, her hair grew to mid thigh and her nails became claws as her brown eyes became sapphire irises and she grew fangs. She had two stripes on her face, one under each eye, one on each wrist and ankle and two on each side of her hip.

As the pain went away and kagome could finally open her eyes she say that in place of the old women stood a beautiful lady in green. "Kagome, I am Mazumi. Goddess of earth, you have proven that you are unselfish and have a good heart. Each millennium I search for someone to give a gift to. You are that person; the animals will come to you if you call them. Demons meant to cause pain will fall under your bow and sacred arrows. You shall be the first ever miko demoness. You are not a type of demon you are every demon you shall chose whatever form you wish to be in at any time. You shall have immense powers and the greatest of evils shall fear you. I give you complete knowledge of how to use your powers and I only ask that you use them for good and only destroy those meant to cause harm. Go my daughter and be happy" That was the last kagome saw of her before she vanished.

Chapter 2

/With Inuyasha and the clay pot/

"Kikyo when we go to tell them your joining the group stay in the forest until I tell you to come out. It will take a little while to convince them that this is for the best but they'll soon realize that the original is way better than the copy and everyone will be glad your with us."

"Are you sure, everyone seems attached to that cheap copy of mine."

"I'm sure. Who would want the copy when you can have the original?"

/later with the others/

"Inuyasha have you seen Kagome?" Everyone turned as soon as Sango said his name.

"How the hell would I know where that bitch is? Oh and by the way Kikyo is joining the group. Come on out kikyo!"

"What! How the hell could you do that!"

"Kikyo is the original and she's way stronger than Kagome we'll get the shards faster with kikyo with us."

"That's where you're wrong Inuyasha!" Came a familiar voice from right behind them. Standing there was the most beautiful demoness anyone there had ever seen.

"Who the hell are you?"

"It's me Kagome."

"Nice try but that weak copy of mine was a pathetic excuse for a miko not a demoness."

"Osuwari!" was her only reply while everyone watched as Inuyasha did a face plant into the ground

"Okaa-san!" shouted a red blur as he threw his self into his adopted mothers awaiting arms. "How did you become a demon?"

"I think we'd all like to know that bitch." Came the rude reply of the brainless hanyou behind them.

"OSUWARI!!! How many times do I have to tell you I am not a bitch that title is reserved for the dead whore next to you!"

"Watch how you talk about kikyo. You're the only whore around here, she's pure and stronger than you'll ever be!"

"That's where you're wrong Inuyasha! I don't know how you missed it but she reeks of Naraku. Kikyo is nothing more than a dead slut who lost all powers to purify long ago! She cannot sense the jewel shards any longer because she's tainted, if she could she would've sensed the ones headed towards us!"

Just as Kagome said that a repulsive snake youkai came out of the clearing and hissed "Give me the Jewel shardsssss and you're deathsss will be a painlesssss one."

"Keep dreaming!" shouted Inuyasha as he drew tetsaiga only to find it remain in the form of a rusty looking katana.

"Pathetic hanyou! You think you can defeat me with that uselessss ssssword!"

"Inuyasha how can you be so foolish? The sword will not work for you any longer because kikyo is no longer alive and therefore no longer human. She is merely a walking corpse. Watch as I take care of this miserable excuse of a demon." With that she called forth the powers given to her by the goddess and formed an arrow of purity notching it in her bow letting it fly they watched as the snake turned to ash. Kagome walked over and picked up the shard purifying it less than a second. "To answer your question shippo I made a wish. I'm leaving to collect the shards on my own, shippo I want you to come with me. Sango, Miroku, Kirara; you are all welcome to come as well. But Inuyasha you and that walking urn are not."

"What! Bitch you think you can leave just like that! I own you and you won't leave me unless you're dead!" screamed an enraged hanyou.

Kagome was at his throat in a second her deadly claws glowing a dark purple "How dare you Inuyasha! You don't own me, no one does! You planned to kill me when this was over and you have the nerve to try and claim me! I heard your conversation with Kikyo and I won't let that happen! Rest assured Inuyasha when the final battle is over you won't have to worry about Kikyo dragging you to hell because I'll put you there myself hanyou!" Kagome flung him back into the forest as hard as she could and watched as flew through several trees before hitting one last tree and falling unconscious. She noticed that Kikyo was missing. 'Honestly Myoga has more guts than that corpse she's already dead what does she have to worry about.'

During the fight between Inuyasha and Kagome the others in the group felt like they would send Inuyasha to hell themselves for what he tried to do to Kagome so they packed there stuff and boarded kirara as Kagome called forth her cloud and they all went west to go retrieve the shard Kagome sensed coming from there.

Chapter 3

/ With Naraku/

"Naraku, Lord Sesshomaru and that little girl are heading this way."

"Very good kagura you may leave now." 'Sesshomaru you might want to keep an eye on that little girl of yours I'd hate to see her get hurt'

"One other thing Naraku it seems Inuyasha's group has split up it's just him and kikyo now. The others left to hunt for shards on their own."

"Perfect. Its just too bad Kikyo couldn't convince him to kill that girl before the group split."

"It will be harder than we thought to kill her now Naraku." Said the voice of everyone's least favorite walking pot from the doorway. "She went and turned herself demon. That cheap copy of mine just had to make things difficult my mate." she pouted

"Well come over here and I can make you feel much better." he said in a husky voice as Kikyo crawled over to him.

Kagura looked at this disgusted as she fled out the door 'there's no way in hell I'm gonna watch them do that just knowing that their gonna do that is...' she shuddered violently at this thought

'Oh god I'm gonna hurl' she ran out the door and spilled whatever she had for breakfast that mourning on the castle grounds.

/ With Sesshomaru/

"Sesshomaru-sama when will we get to see Kagome nee-Chan again?" came a little girls voice

"Cease that infernal racket Rin! Lord Sesshomaru doesn't associate with his hanyou brother or his human wench!" Jaken shouted back at her

"Jaken."

" H-hai milord?" Sesshomaru felt the fear that radiated off his retainer 'how pathetic. Rin doesn't fear me and yet she's human while Jaken is a demon and his aura reeks of that emotion.' "You will not speak to Rin in that manner again do you understand me." it was more of a statement than a question.

"H-hai milord."

Sesshomaru tensed as he felt the presence of Naraku close "Jaken you will watch Rin while I'm gone and should anything happen to her it's your head." before the poor toad could even respond his lord was gone in the blink of an eye.

"My lord why do you torture me so?" he questioned the heavens as he fell on his knees sobbing sure that the little human girl would try to burry him with flowers. While contemplating this he failed to notice the demon, lucky for him though someone did

"Demon what the hell do you think you're doing!"

"Hello miko have you come to die today. You'll have to wait until I finish with this girl."

/Earlier with Kagome and the others/

"Miroku, Sango I sense Naraku close by. He's in the clearing over there!" Kagome shouted to her friends

"Well what are we waiting for lets go!" they both shouted back at the same time. The group landed in the clearing just in time to see a demon coming up behind Rin who was playing in the flowers trying to decide which ones would look best on him.

"Demon what the hell do you think you're doing!"

"Hello onna have you come to die today you'll have to wait until I finish with this girl I'm afraid."

Chapter 4

/same p.o.v./

last chapter-

"Demon what the hell do you think you're doing!"

"Hello onna have you come to die today, you'll have to wait until I finish with this girl I'm afraid."

this chapter-

"Oh and what makes you think I'll let you do that!" yelled out kagome as she rushed at the demon.

The others prepared to attack and help kagome but they forgot about her new powers. She jumped over the demon and kicked it in its side sending it flying. Then she pulled a white chopstick out of her hair that had gold and silver animals running all over it and everyone watched as it turned into a whip that glowed blue with miko powers. The demon hadn't even turned around when she lashed out and sliced him in half. After she put the whip away all that was left of the demon was a pile of ash and a large jewel shard.

"It was another one of naraku's incarnations." kagome picked up the jewel shard and then turned to the little girl who was staring at her with wide eyes. "Are you okay Rin?"

"Oh yes I am now that Kagome nee-chan saved me!"

"Wait, You know who I am Rin?"

"Of course I do you're kagome nee-chan!"

"Well at least somebody knew who I was."

"Lady kagome I had no idea you could fight so well. What a wonderful mother you will make someday." Said Miroku in an enthusiastic voice while his hand was slowly creeping towards her backside.

"Oh no you don't you lecher!" Shouted sango as she hit him upside the head with her Hirakotsu(sp).

"Will he ever learn." came the voice of shippo

"No." replied sango and kagome at the same time

"Why does he do that if he's just gonna get hurt kagome nee-chan?" came the little voice of rin

"Because he's an idiot just like all humans!" came the obnoxious voice of jaken. Fortunately he couldn't say any more as sango's boomerang came crashing down on his skull. "Hey watch it you little toad! I'm human and if you say another comment towards us I'll send you into your next life!"

/sesshomaru's p.o.v./

'Damn that Naraku! It was all just a trap. he wanted to lure me away with another one of his puppets. Rin you better be alright.'

-Flashback-

Sesshomaru had just gotten to the clearing where he sensed Naraku's presence and found another one of his puppets "Too much of a coward to fight me yourself Naraku."

"Kukuku. Sesshomaru I don't need to fight you myself you're weak enough for one of my puppets."

Sesshomaru moved so fast that the puppet naraku couldn't keep up but he wasn't stupid. He knew Sesshomaru would appear behind him and his plan needed his puppet to stall a bit longer so he moved and watched as The taiyoukai appeared behind where he was less than a second ago.

"You'll need to be faster than that lord Sesshomaru."

"No I just need to be faster than you." and with that he was next to the demon puppet and sliced through his body, but the demon had a final warning.

"Kukuku do you think it is wise to leave your little girl all alone Sesshomaru. You never know what might get to her."

-End flashback-

Sesshomaru came to the clearing where rin was just in time to see her with a strange group of humans and demons. Some of them knew from his encounters with Inuyasha but there was a strange demoness with them, and a very beautiful one at that. But the others, where they were Inuyasha was always close by but the thing is he couldn't sense his brother on his lands anywhere. He watched as rin started talking to the strange demoness and then as she turned to the monk. The monk's hand was sliding slowly over her back and towards her rear when the taijiya's weapon crashed down on top of his head.

"Oh no you don't you lecher!" she cried out

He heard some mumbling from the kitsune and then the very clear voice of the taijiya and demoness say no. More mumbling from Rin and the Jakens screaching voice.

"Because he's stupid just like all humans!"

The slayers hirakotsu came down hard on the top of his retainer's head as she screamed furiously at him. "Hey watch it you little toad! I'm human and if you say another comment towards us I'll send you into your next life!"

/Normal p.o.v./

"Thank's Sango his voice was giving me a head ache." Said kagome with a smile but it soon faded as they all heard someone laughing from the bushes. "Who ever you are come out now!"

Sesshomaru stepped out of the bushed and watched the shock that spread over everyone's faces before saying "I must agree the voice of my retainer is enough to make a deaf man get a headache." The humans and small kitsunes jaws all dropped but the demoness just smiled and said "At least we can agree on something Lord Sesshomaru."

Chapter 5

"Who are you? You know who I am yet I don't think we've ever met."

"Ah but we have met before, it's just that last time I was human and you were fighting Inuyasha. Maybe this will help." She changed into her human form and said "my name is Kagome"

"I remember you! You're Inuyasha's wench!"

What no one expected was what she said next. "I am Not Inuyasha's wench, and Don't you ever call me that again you pompous jackass!! Come on guys lets go. I'll see you soon rin." With that she prepared to leave but was stopped by Sesshomaru.

"What did that half-breed do this time?"

"That idiot chose a walking corpse over me! I'm still alive but no he has to go and choose a clay pot, and if that's not bad enough he said he'd kill me when the jewel is whole just to give kikyo back 'her' soul. She's dead and she gave up all rights to my soul as soon as she went to hell!"

"Are you done yet?"

"Almost. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Much better."

"Good then will you consider joining me? We are both after Naraku and he always seems to attack you."

"I guess we could it's up to the others though. What do you say guys? Wanna stick around."

"I think it's a great idea Kagome. We could really use his help."-Sango

"I agree Lord Sesshomaru is very powerful he would be a great ally."-miroku

"I don't know he always tried to kill us okaa-san. Can we trust him?"-shippo

"I think so shippo if he wanted us dead he would've tried something by now."

"Oh, ok then I think we should join him."

"If you were human before how are you demon now." Asked sesshomaru

"There's not much to tell." Replied Kagome with a smile.

"What makes you say that?"

"The truth."

"How is that true. You went from human to demon something I have never heard of happening before."

"Do you really want to know."

"Yes."

"Lady Kagome I believe we would all like to know how you changed." inquired Miroku.

/Kagomes p.o.v/

'I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid this forever. They were bound to ask this question sooner or later. I made a wish isn't really an explanation.' "Okay, I'll tell you. I overheard Inuyasha plan to kill me after the jewel was complete and so I ran. I saw an old lady being attacked by a demon and I had to help her. After I killed the demon I found out that the old lady was actually the goddess Mazumi in disguise. Every millennium she travels to the mortal world to grant a wish to someone deserving, since I helped her she gave me the wish and I wished to become a demon so I could protect my friends and get revenge on Inuyasha. She told me that I was not any demon but all demons because my body is not restricted to only one kind. I can be any type of demon at any time I wish." With that Kagome turned into an inu youkai, then a kitsune, neko, dragon, wolf, phoenix, eagle, and then finally hawk. "She gave me full knowledge of how to use my new powers so it saved me a lot of time training." She watched as they all stood there with a stupid look on their faces, except for Sesshomaru of course, and waited for the response that was about to come. "You know if you guys keep standing there with your mouths open you'll catch fly's." 'That did it' she watched as they all collected themselves and Miroku asked the first question.

"Kagome would you do me the honor of bearing my children?" for the second time in only 30 minutes he was rendered unconscious by sango's weapon.

Chapter 6

/Sesshomaru's p.o.v/

'So that's how this happened. The goddess Mazumi travels the earth once a millennium to grant the wish of the purest and most giving soul. How is it that after all Inuyasha has put her through Kagome's soul still remains pure?' He was about to speak when the taijiya beat him to it.

"Wow Kagome! A gift like this is a very powerful one. Your status in the demon society is above that of all but the high lords now."

"What do you mean?" was the only reply they got along with Kagome's confused face.

"It means." Said Sesshomaru, " That since you were given such a rare gift that you are above all in the demon society except for the high lords that reside in these lands, and that all lesser demons will either fear you or be stupid enough and try to make you their mate. Those who are will most likely die."

"Your like royalty now momma!" came Shippo's excited voice.

"Great just what I always wanted, either demons are going to be too scared to come near me or their going to try and kill me." Came her reply.

"Not true I neither fear you or desire to mate with you." Added Sesshomaru

"Yeah but you don't count, your too stuck up to be attracted to me and I still haven't met anyone your afraid of."

"This Sesshomaru is not 'stuck up', and your too weak for me to fear."

"I'll bet anything that you can't beat me."

"I don't need to prove myself to you, besides you'll just end up hurt" said Sesshomaru "It is getting dark we should retire for the night I will set up camp here."

"Fine." She said as she changed into her kitsune form to keep shippo company

/Shippo's p.o.v/

'What if she says no? It doesn't matter I still have to ask her. She's always been like a second mom to me and she mind when I call her Kaa-san. I have to ask her. "Kaa-san can I talk to you alone for a little bit?"

"Sure shippo." She led him to the edge of the clearing and they both sat down on a rock. "What is it sweetie?"

"Momma I was wondering if you could adopt me by youkai law? I mean you've always been like a real mom to me and if you adopt it will be like you are. I'll understand if you say no."

/Kagome's p.o.v/

Kagome couldn't talk for a few moments. She would be more than happy to adopt shippo. But he seemed to think she wouldn't want to. "Oh shippo of course I'd love to adopt you! But how?"

"Oh that's easy we need a priest but miroku will do, witnesses and a silver dagger. "We both stand at different sides of a fire while a priest or monk gives us his blessings. We slit our palms and allow each other's blood to flow through our veins, say we accept each other as mother and son, and then if there is anyone who doubts we are sincere out of the witnesses they speak up and challenge you."

"Doesn't seem too hard."

"Oh Kagome there's one more thing."

"What is it?"

"Before he died my father was Lord of the east so we might have to do this in front of a demon court."

Chapter 7

/Sesshomaru p.o.v/

'So the kit is the eastern heir. The council has been looking for him for 3 years.' "Kit. Do you know how much trouble you've caused the demon council? We've been searching for you for quite a while now. The council had to place an overseer in the throne."

"Well sorry but i really just wanted to stay with momma. Everyone in the council wouldn't have let me because she was just a human then but now that she's a demon they won't mind. And when she adopts me then she can take over the eastern lands until I'm old enough."

"Perhaps but first we have to get the overseer out of the throne. He's power hungry and won't give up without a fight not to mention that the northern lord is his brother so he will have someone to lend him support."

"Wait shippo if you're a demon prince then where is your family crest?" Asked Sango "Every demon of the royal bloodline has one. Sesshomaru is the crescent moon on his forehead."

"I have one but you just can't see it because it hidden by my hair." He moved his hair away and everyone saw a blue teardrop on his forehead. "See. It's here you guys just couldn't see it."

"Wait Shippo I want to adopt you and all but what's with taking over the east till your old enough?" asked Kagome.

"Well when you adopt me then it'll be like I was born from you making you something like my birth mother. And I'll take on some of your traits and you'll become lady of the east."

"Ok Shippo I would like nothing more than to be your real mom, but please tell me there's no more surprises."

"Other than you having to defeat the overseer to adopt me I can't see one."

"So fighting the overseer isn't a surprise?"

"Not to me because like fluffy said he's power hungry and will challenge you to make sure he keeps the throne."

Sesshomaru was pissed that the insolent kit would dare call him 'fluffy'. There is nothing Fluffy about him, well except his tail but that doesn't count. So he did the only thing he could think of and picked him up by his tail as he growled at him and said, "Kit call me Fluffy again and I shall rid you of your tail."

Kagome smelled her kit's fear and was enraged that the demon in front of her would dare harm think to harm him. Before he knew what was happening Sesshomaru was thrown into a tree staring into Kagome's crimson eyes. "How dare you threaten my kit!" she growled as she raised her claws to strike.

Sesshomaru mentally cursed himself for doing something so stupid. He knew better than to threaten a demon child while it's mother is near. Yet he did and now had to fight of an angry demoness who let her youkai take control.

Sesshomaru had already collected some minor scratches and knew that if she wasn't stopped she would kill him, But he couldn't get close enough to knock her out without letting her kill him. The demon slayer noticed this and used her hiraikotsu to hit her on the back of her head knocking her unconscious.

"Thank you slayer, for helping me." He said while trying to catch his breath ignoring the shocked expression on the faces of the humans. He leaned down to pick up Kagome and they headed of towards his castle.
