Chapter 1 - The Great Escape

'Keep Going. Don't stop. Come on Kagome you can do it, whatever you do just don't stop.' Kagome thought as she fled from the castle, the same castle where he was. 'Hopefully he won't notice I'm gone till morning so then I'll be long gone.'

A loud growl is heard along with a crash.

'Well, there goes that plan.'

Suddenly really fast footsteps are heard coming towards her from the direction she just came from.

'Shit! Not now! I gotta run faster, the well's only a little farther.'

She keeps running, pumping her legs as fast as she can. She sees the clearing and the well.

"The well." Kagome says out loud, then clamps her hand over her mouth. She feels hot breath on the back of her neck.

"Trying to escape your own mate?" he says with a smirk on his face as Kagome turns around to face him. She has to bend her neck back to look him in the eye. She sees anger in his eyes. She steps back and looks at the ground.

"So close...." She mumbles. 'Yet so far...' she finishes in her mind.

He takes a step closer to her, knowing that she knows, that he knows, that she knows, that he knows that she has lost. They know. (A/N I know it's kinda confusing, isn't it?)

"Come, we're going back to the castle." He states coolly.

'Come, we're going back to the castle.' she mocks as she starts to follow him. "It seems more like a prison to me." She adds under her breath as she sighs sadly.

"What was that?" He says, even though he knows exactly what she said. His demon self is extremely angry at this comment,

*Why does bitch disobey? Why does she runaway and say that home is prison? Why does she mock us!?!*

'She's just trying to make us mad.'

*Bitch needs to know our dominance, show her our dominance Make her bend to every will. Show her!*

'She will learn in time.'

*Can't wait.*

'And that's why you're not in control; you don't think you just act. She will learn in time that we are dominant, evening if this Sesshoumaru must punish her.'

>>>While Sesshoumaru is talking to himself:

'Wait a second' She says to herself, completely ignoring him. 'I'm already close to the well, he thinks that I've given up, and he seems to be lost in his own train of thought. All I have to do is run like mad, right.........about.................NOW'

With that she turns and runs towards the well like crazy. Of course Sesshoumaru hears her run and takes off after her. Just as he's about to grab her she jumps into the well and is gone in a flash of light.

He falls backwards but catches himself before he actually hits the ground.

"What the hell was that bitch thinking" He growls as his eyes bleed red. "She's mine. How dare she escape me! You will come back to this Sesshoumaru, Kagome, and when you do you'll pay for disobeying me."

Just as he says that Jaken comes along checking to see what's wrong. "L-lord S-s-Sesshoumaru, this lowly servant begs for your forgiveness--"

"NOT NOW, JAKEN" He yells, but then returns to his normal, cold, emotionless self and his eyes fade.

Jaken looks and realizing that Kagome isn't around, says, "Milord, that human wench is gone, you've sent her back to where she belongs, I always knew she was bad news. I'm glad you made the right decision; I almost thought you were losing your mind when you said you were going to mate her. I mean--"

Jaken realized he should have shut his mouth (A/N Finally he learns something, lol) Sesshoumaru instantly had Jaken held by his throat, "You will never speak of this

Sesshoumaru's mate in that way again, do you understand?" he growled out.

"Y-y-yes, m-milord, please forgive this lowly servant, it w-will n-never h-happen a-again." Jaken said as his master let him drop to the ground with a loud thud.

Suddenly a little voice was heard, "Where's mommy?"

It was Rin. She came out of her hiding place from behind a bush; she looked as though she would burst into tears at any second.

"D-did R-rin d-do something w-wrong? Is mommy mad at Rin? Did mommy leave Rin?" She said as she looked up at Sesshoumaru.

"No, Rin, you mother has not left you. She has--" Sesshoumaru started but was interrupted.

"Your wrench of a mother has left Lord Sesshoumaru and is not coming back " Jaken said forgetting that Sesshoumaru was there.

Rin burst into tears when she heard that her mom had left and wasn't coming back. Sesshoumaru growled as his eyes turned red, again. "Leave NOW" he said to Jaken and of course Jaken listened and ran like the coward he was.

"Is Jaken-sama telling the truth?" Rin asked. "Did mommy leave forever?"

"No, Rin, your mother just went on.........a trip" Sesshoumaru replied.

"How long will she be gone? When's mommy coming back?" Rin asked.

"Soon." was all he said

'She better come back soon, or she will face the consequences.'

*No, won't cause harm to mate.*

'Yes, we will, she disobeyed me and she will learn.'

*But it our fault that mate left.*

'It doesn't matter.'

*Yes it does.*

'No, it doesn't.'

*Yes it does.*

'I won't fight with you anymore.'

*Don't you mean you won't fight with yourself?*

'Go away.'
