It is a bit awkward that your author's notes are longer than the drabble.  You might want to consider either (1) lengthening your drabbles or (2) condensing your thoughts in your ANs.

RE: Dog ears.

As puppies, most dog ears are pretty malleable. The cartilage in the ears doesn't start to harden until they're a couple months old. Border collies are a really good example of dogs whose ears do anything and everything they want to, but it happens in many breeds. Sometimes the ears flop or tip or are erect or they have umbrella ears or one erect and one flopped, with very little rhyme or reason. The bigger the ear, the more likely it is to flop.

It isn't an uncommon practice (esp. with breeders and show dogs) to tape or glue or wet a dog's ears to help them form into the shape you want before the cartiladge hardens fully. (Practices that the puppy doesn't even notice. I've never done it myself, but its harmless. Its the equivalent of sticking a piece of low adhesive tape or bandaging on the tip of an ear to weigh it down and make it flop/etc.)
