Oh I love how Kikyo's soul has gone through such cleansing.  I have greatly enjoyed all of the chapters but this one struck a cord.  Of course wishful thinking, I would like to see this pair find happiness.

I understand why Inuyasha would want Kikyo to live but to condem so many?

If she hadn't been brought back and he found out about Naraku's treachery, he would have killed Naraku and then would have spoken to her shrine to let her know Naraku died. I'm also wondering how he will take it when he finds out that Kagome no longer loves him as a lover but now as a friend. He's already lost her and he doesn't realize it yet.

I'm really loving your story and the perspective of the characters you've created.  I'm so glad that you point out the unfortunate truth about Kikyo.  It's not the behavior of a priestess to destroy souls for such a selfish reason.  The glimpse into InuYasha's deeper thoughts is also very nice.  I'm looking forward to when he realizes the unfairness of expecting Kagome to just keep waiting in a holding pattern while he works through this with Kikyo.  It's always been a thought on whether he truly loves Kagome or felt a connection to Kikyo for the life they could never have together...

I'm glad Kagome showed the earnestness to be with Sesshomaru and showed him how terrified she was to lose him. I think Kagome might have "known" she didn't love Inuyasha as a lover would anymore but it's a big difference to "know" it and then actually face it.

Perhaps facing Inuyasha and seeing him choose Kikyo put the proverbial nail in the coffin on Kagome's love for Inuyasha and also helped her realize that even though she and Sesshomaru are having some rough spots, he truly sees her and cares for her. Although, some of her trust may have been broken since she found out about Sesshomaru's betrayl. But that is natural and I am sure Sesshomaru is up to the challenge of building her trust in him completely again.

Wow, Inu really had to go that far didn't he?
I hope Sesshomaru understands her emotions and isn't hurt or jealous. I'm glad Kagome is finally letting Inu go though. He won't ever see her as anyone other then Kikyo. But I feel so bad for Kagome, her entire life has been turned upside down and she's trying so hard to learn everything about this new culture she's been thrown into and she has not constant - no rock to rely on. She feels as if Sesshomaru betrayed her so her trust is a bit broken with him - so she may feel like she can't lean on him now.

Oh my god I am so in love, this is probably one of best Sesshomaru and Kagome fanfics I have ever read. The plot is wonderful, the writing is like no other and the pacing is perfect!

I think you did a good job of illustrating IY's relatio to Kikyo and Kagome in a very canon way. He loves both Kikyou and Kagome,but it hurts both Kikyou and Kagome to see his love for the other. That is why RT avoided putting the 3 ofvthem together unless she wanted this type of reaction. Here are her words on the subject.

Yamaguchi: Is he? I worry that after Kikyo appears, I won't know how to switch my feelings between Kagome and Kikyo. Don't you think that'll be difficult, Ms. Takahashi?

Takahashi: Don't worry. I avoided situations where the three of them would be together talking. Inuyasha always likes the girl he is with the best.

Yamaguchi: Uh-huh (laughs)! Shame, shame, bad Inuyasha!

Takahashi: I think he's all right that way (laughs). There might be a problem if the three of them were together.

Very good job on displaying the hypocrisy in Inuyasha's character -one of the best I've seen. Done without making him into a "bad guy" like many do.

The flicker of hurt in Kikyo's eyes was a nice touch too. I'm not a huge Kikyo fan overall, but neither do I care to see her as evil.

Hmm...everybody has lots to think about. Kagome is now both in the position of the heartbroken and heartbreaker. I wonder how this will affect her "talk" with Sesshoumaru. I can't wait to see how Kagome deals with the changing dynamic between them with the change of Inuyasha being there. Plus the bad guy(s) is still out there plotting. I can't wait to see what happens next and how you sweep us away again :)
