The InuYasha fandom might not be dead, but is anyone in the market for a roleplay partner for the InuYasha universe? AU or Canon. I often use these for inspiration for fanfics and such.

I have and did alot with friends and in various forms over the years, mostly direct posting with characters. They post, I post, either slow or quick depending on the medium aka forum, or rpg group, or direct chat-style round-robin rpging.
Yups, done the lot, which ironically is a great excercise for character development, and practice for plot-twists too, and can really help you get into the writing mindset, especially in the 'What If' scenarios.
You just play it out live in rpg, rather than taking a lone more methodical approach in fanfic-writing. You're more in control of the characters, plot, and story development.
In rpg you're not, it's more spontaeneous.
You've got to think on your feet more or less.
And, lol, it's hilariously fun playing off someone else's creativity too.
I enjoyed rpging a lot over the years.
Haven't done much of it recently though.
Writing fanfic is kind of like rpging solo though.

Honestly the reason I came back to writing fanfiction was because I was craving some InuYasha fun and my rp partner of the last 4 years mysteriously disappeared (( we mostly did Inu/Kag tho

Really?
LOL!
I know it's not funny, I do! But that's what happened to my rpg partner! LOL! Although I know why why they've disappeared. RL stuff, which is totally understandable. And np, we did Elfquest mostly in rpg, but later branched out into Gargoyles, Naruto, and a weird Greek/Egyptian god-myth rpg thing.
It was serious fun.
Never have tried Inuyasha rpgs, which would be a new avenue, and very interesting too.

"Do not tempt me with such a tantalizing offer, Humans..."
Seriously, though! It sounds too fun, so I'm considering it~ :3
Plus, I miss roleplaying, but it's been years, so I miss it dearly!

Lol, I intend on joining the Inu verse on my main rping website soon
but my character choice was Sango lol xD.
I couldn't agree with you more TamashaToko.
Roleplaying always gives me inspiriation or drive to write ff.
No lie though my writing structure differentiates between the two.

No thanks,
I'm not a fan of email rpgs, unless it goes through a group or forum.
Plus I don't always check my PMs or emails regularly.
Also am wanting to concentrate on arting.
I have a tonne of work that needs finishing, plus I want to mess around in GIMP for colouring too.

To make something clear rping hasn't always lead to the best fanfics from me.... and I always have issues keeping Kagome in character in rps for some reason. Perhaps because I always try to just make her attitude fit every situation idk man.
*stares at list of fanfiction and glares at horrible rp inspired mistakes*

I think RP is a great way to gain inspiration for stories. That's why I do it, and often times it leads to stories you didn't even expect to write in the first place, which usually ends up being a lot of fun. However, on topic, I haven't gotten the chance to join the Inuyasha-verse yet, not a lot of people do it surprisingly considering it is technically a fairytale-like setting where plenty of strange and exciting things can and do happen.
