Well, hi my dear friends ^^

I have a small problem that is really frustrating me.

My Microsoft Word 2003 is in spanish (as all my Windows) because my brother decided to install it that way.

But I need the dictionary and grammar/spell checking to be in English because:

1) It really annoys the hell out of me when I write "it" and it's sublined with a red-dotted line. (Or any other word in English)
2) Come on I need my grammar to be corrected by a computer, too !!

Hehe... So...

Microsoft Word 2003 switch from spanish to english... Anyone knows? Anyone can get links? Anyone can tell me how to add the English dictionary instead of switching the whole thing to English (though I don't mind that lol)?

Unfortunately my computer that actually has Word on it died recently and I'm still in the process of fixing it.

However you could always try poking around the preferences to see if you can find anything, preferences/options would probably be under File or Edit? (been a while since I opened such a program ) Just skim through all the tabs it shows and see if you can find anything that seems to be along the lines of what you want.

If you still have the installation cd, this is what you should do:
- Run the setup;
- When prompted select repair/install/add or remove features (I don't recall which appear in this version, sorry);
- Costume installation;
- In the BIG list of items to be installed you'll eventually see the dictionary options, there select English and any other language you wish to have.

You should update to a newer version of office though ; The early 2000 versions are very buggy.

Well, Sugaro, the problem is that my Word is 2003 So I don't have the same options as you lol.

I tried the whole 'let's see if there's a way to do this myself...mmm...' but didn't work lol so the whole investigate-click-oops is no use lol

If this is an option for you, you could just download Open Office, a free program that is similar to and compatible with MS Word.

Open Office This way, you can bypass the MS word all together.

Open office is a good program--very similar to Word. And you can set it to save in Word format. It's easy to use and I haven't had any problems with it.

If you want to change the language on Word, you should be able to find it under options. You can change the language into English. Check through the tool menu, I believe, but that might be wrong.
