Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to Dokuga but not to SessxKag. I also like to draw on the side and even though I don't consider myself that great of an artist I've been thinking about doing a couple of artist tables at some of the local conventions.

The thing is I know what I like to draw but I don't know if it's something that people would pay for so I am in need of your help. What type's of pics are all of you interested in or what do you look for in a pic? And also what would be a good price range for my pictures cause I know I would seriously underprice my pictures (or so I'm told when someone has asked me to buy one of my pics )

Any help would be helpful and here's a link to my DA gallery to see other things I've done in the past to see if my artwork is even sellable .

Very lovely work. I'd say it is definitely commission worthy.

Everyone's tastes are different. A style I might like, someone else might not, and so on. One thing I've seen artists do is take ten or twenty requests from people of stuff to draw just to kind of get their work out there. Might be something worth trying.

Thanks for the speedy reply and I agree with what you said. I used to do a lot of request for people back when I posted on Fanart-Central but haven't really had any since leaving there and going to Deviant Art and other sites. My main goal is to atleast be successful at an artist table, but didn't know if people are looking for certian genre's? Very detailed artwork for a little more money or just quick sketches for very little but you could do a lot of them? Do people like to see original artwork or do they just like to buy fanarts?

These are what I'm not sure on cause I haven't been keeping up with what anime's are popular lately and so I don't know what people would like, and a lot of the one's out there I'm really not a fan of.

Most of my experience with art if with the furry fandom. There, you have people who like to purchase art of their own fursona's (their animal persona). They also like to see original works, considering their aren't too many furry related things from which to do fanart, original art is wider there.

When I got to conventions, I don't generally head to Artist Alley. I have no intention of buying, so I don't look. But the only real way to know how to make a successful table is to just reserve one and hope for the best. Bring a 50/50 mix of original art and fan art, see what sells the best. This will give you an idea of what is preferred to prepare you for the next year. And even if you don't do too well at the table, you just gave yourself tons of publicity.
