Well, yes, that too, but the flower back drop reminded me of this one version of the story I'd read in a fairy tale book- I don't know if it's how the original tale of Thumbelina goes, but in the end of it she becomes the bride of a pixie prince (I think?) and sprouts wings of her own :).
