The idea just clicked as soon as I read her Guilty Pleasure in fanart :D

At the end, the last prompt of April's DDN sort of matched the drawing, so I made a drabble for it :) Hope you like it!

April’s DDN, Prompt 10: Beloved
Sesshomaru moved the shard in between his fingers and it caught the morning light, making the small, powerful item sparkle innocently. Yet, it was anything but that. The Shikon shards had the ability to increase a youkai’s power tenfold, it could bring back the dead, keep those with a mortal wound alive and much more.
He was a Lord, and a Taiyoukai, and the fake power the shards offered were never of his interest until that fateful day arrived, when one his pack was felled. She was worthless as a miko, untrained and weak but there was more to her. Her soul shone like the sun, her gaze was soft like the grass and her purity was unmatchable.
She was the carrier of the Shikon Jewel, the most powerful item in existence.
He once again played with the shard and then smiled. As long as he had this shard, his beloved miko will be reborn and will come back to find him. She had to.
