Ok... so I see there's some confusion here. I'll try to explain. Takemaru... we all know why he died. It may seem... harsh but remember that Kogane is not human. She's a demon and remember this is not the Feudal Era here. This is way before since Sesshomaru IS a kid. I don't think they were 'nicer' back then when hanyou were despised so strongly. Also, remember she IS the Lady of the West... she has power.
Why did Izayoi's mother died? Well, if you remember Kogane was not going to let Kagome close to Takemaru because she didn't trust him but the Lady interfered and told Kogane to let them... that nothing would happen. While it was not her who killed Kagome, I don't think Kogane would willingly forgive her.
Finally... have faith. Things will get better soon... or most of them ;]
