Sesshomaru is such a jerk, keep it coming.
No worries about the little typos and such. You're doing just fine, really. I honestly wish I knew more about writing to offer my assistance, but English was not one of my better classes in school.
I really liked this chapter alot. I agree with the title of it immensely. It is neither kind nor professional to give a new employee a task like entertaining a client in which a merger or buyout of their company is expected. I, too, don't have any idea what he's trying to do here. I understand he wants to establish a fine line between their work and their relationship but he's really going about it in a bad way.
First, he doesn't even give her a few days notice where she could possibly read about the client and maybe get a feel for who this is and how to go about doing the job. Then too, he didn't even give her someone who could tell her just exactly how to conduct such a task. Does he think every employee knows the steps in which to perform every single task their job entails? Um, wait, this is Sesshoumaru, yeah he probably does.
I agree with her, when she gets to see him again she should respectfully discuss exactly what it is that he expects from her since she hadn't any idea that it included preforming tasks without being given instruction before preforming such importants matters. I always love her temper as it shows she's not afraid to speak her mind, but I think she needs to 'feel' him out a little more before jumping down his throat, so to speak. She already knows he has a cold and rather heartless way toward people, so maybe keeeping herself strong but tactful may get her further with him. He seems to react better when she's a bit like her past self without going overboard...oh, but I forgot, she doesn't remember her old self...hmmm
Now, on the flip side of this, I understand he's testing her resolve and dedication to doing such a job as she was hired for. I don't know about him, but I was absolutely impressed with her answer to why she changed his letter. My mother in law is Spanish/Italian and as such she had learned through her years that English is a very difficult language as we have so many words that mean the same thing but are usually used in certain contexts. She told me that she couldn't often find the English word or a meaning for what she wanted to say when speaking. My husband or sister in law would have to put what she was saying into English for me or if we were alone she'd say, "how you say it..., I think maybe this is right, yes?" I was just happy she tried to help me understand what she wanted me to know to care if it was proper or not, but in business, Kagome was spot on with making the necessary changes for what Sesshoumaru was meaning to say. It's rather odd that no one else ever thought to address this with him...maybe either they themselves didn't know(doubtful, it's business)or they were afraid to tell the CEO that his letters required different interpretations to get his specific meaning across.(more likely)
There's only one other thought that crossed my mind, that this client is actually Sesshoumaru and he's surprising her,but then again, I wondered why he would tell his secretary that he wanted Kagome to do a buyout deal on her first two days at the company. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
Again, my apologies for reading this late. The storms that keep rolling through my area are a true pain in the rear when trying to keep up on my fics. We have another round heading in within just 30 minutes. I'm heading to the southend of Springfield as this one is going to be dangerous to stay in our mobile home.
Love ya! JEN
Aviva (Chapter 10) - Mon 13 Jul 2015
At least Kagome was smart enough to know that she had to seperate her personal feelings from hindering her job and the way she relates to Sesshomaru, although he didn't have to be such a jerk about it. He was very distant and stern to Kagome and as I read the chapter I realized that he had his own reasons for that. The dust has not yet settled on Kagome's job, Akane's father was still going on about it and he just wanted to make sure that she could take the heat if it came to that. She is qualified but that alone is not enough to see her through. She needs to get tougher, gain more confidence so that she can survive. Sesshomaru being who he is had no problems in throwing her into the ocean and then shout swim. I felt the uncertainty and pressure she faced and I am glad that she was able to pull herself together to give this business deal a shot. Poor girl, her second day of work and she is already swimming with the sharks. Great update, I know this story will get better as it go on.
DivaG (Chapter 10) - Mon 13 Jul 2015
it seems that Sesshoumaru wants to make it clear to Kagome that professional and personal life are two different things that can not mix and in this he is right, and he seems also inclined to make her able to meet each and every challenge in their work, but it's very early, it's her first day there and he is already placing a heavy responsibility onto her without even explaining his motives for doing so. Although he obviously aims to make her stronger and confident in her skills, he needs to learn how to communicate.
I love the story, but sesshy attitude to kagome make me angry. He shouldnt do like that!!
Nice chapter, keep it coming.
What a mess, keep it coming.
Aviva (Chapter 9) - Fri 03 Jul 2015
Mmph! So Kagome has started to have doubts, that normally happens after a long bout of reality. I really can't blame her though. She has been through quite a bit and had nearly lost her sanity, no wonder she has grown weary and insecure. I believe that in her quest for the truth she has lost sight of her true self and so she gave herself to someone who she thinks will fill the void in her life and make her whole again. Unfortunately reality is far oppose to fantasy and now she must make the most out of what has happened. I see that Sesshomaru is conflicted over his actions and now he too will have to live with the consequences . I don't think any of the last two chapters are amusing in anyway, even in real life we are driven by our emotions and will make mistakes. Sometimes our hopes and dreams will fade and to catch them we chase after them even though that sixth sense tells us no. Brilliant analysis as always, you really do have great insight into the psyche of a person who has suffered as Kagome has. Update soon, this story is filled with intrigue and a sense of real life struggles. ????
Kagome got some backbone in this chapter even if she did use the wine as liquid courage. She's confused now, maybe alittle more than before laying with him because now she gets a dose of reality when she sees where he's living/staying and the class of people at that end of the city. The time it took her in the cab ride to think things over and then the formality at the hotel and the long wait for him to come to her, seeing his expensive room and the view from the balcony would be having her head spinning with doubts and wonderings.
I rather liked her showing him her maturity even though she had to drink a full glass of wine to get the courage. She did bite a little bit when she redirected his question back to him. Her snap about not wanting to be used made him snap back. Being on the wrong end of Sesshoumaru's ire is never a good thing and I'm glad she closed her mouth after that, but it didn't take long for her to say another wrong thing...or shall I say, say it in a wrong way? It was a total Sesshoumaru move to say it doesn't concern you but he was totally wrong there and were he not so used to putting people in their place when he doesn't like what's being said, he would have already known that question would be a first question coming from someone like Kagome. Bravo Kagome! I would have said the same thing and walked out too even though he didn't give her a chance to leave.
I was shocked at his response to tell her anything even that revealing yet. I'm starting to believe that Sesshoumaru is more enamored with Kagome now. Love? not yet...way too soon for him but it certainly hasn't taken him long to hate lying to her and I don't think it's because of InuYasha's claiming her first. That first embrace and kiss sent the same drawing of their powers to each other even though Kagome remebers not of her gifts from being in the past.
This attraction they have toward each other isn't just because she's a young inexperienced woman(albeit, that doesn't help as hormones do lie to us). I think, no, I know you can see someone and find that instinct of knowingness that there's a deep connection that you just know, yet, can't let go of. I know as I was in the same situation oh so many years ago and because I listened to my instincts (I knew was God) telling me that he would need me later and to stay with him in whatever way possible until the right time came, I may have left too, but I was more gentle in my questioning and gave him his space and time to come to some understanding of what he felt and that I'd be there as his friend if that's all it could be. Don't get me wrong. Sleeping with a guy first when you know there's a marriage is NEVER the right thing to do but let him know it's not because you don't want him. Let him know that you just don't want to cause trouble.
I can also understand Kagome falling into his eyes(as they say, the eyes are the windows of the soul and as far as I know Youkai are NOT soul less...(Demons ARE) At least he tells he that when he can, he will. I believe he's trying to keep her from getting hurt as obviously Rin did because his wife, I think is purely jealous over Sesshoumaru's relationship with Rin and because of his unablity to keep himself undercontol where Rin is concerned she is using him in every possible way to make him pay for her failings to produce offspring and keep his attentions for herself.
At least he allowed Kagome willing or not to see that this was not the right time to discuss such a matter that she keep things official at the office so she can never be used against him and he do the same. But one the other hand, I want them to find time together. I believe I know what may come when little brother shows up but that's then and this, if Sessh can learn to understand what this feeling and love is, he may have a chance at happiness but not before something bad happens as is always when one tries to deceive.
This fic is only going to get better from here if I know you as well as I think I do. Go for it , you past fics are exceptional and so are you!
Take care and forgive the awful weather we've had for keeping me away from the computer and you, my friend.
Always know I love ya! JEN
Oh my, this went a little deeper(no pun intended) than I thought it would. I honestly didn't think after her saying she wanted him that he'd ask her again if she was sure. This only led her to more questions that he should have known would come up in her mind. She is seeking answers and to me that was quite apparent from the moment she rushed into his arms and kissed him without even having been formerly introduced.
Yes, she ignited something within him that he needs to explore but he has a conscience now that his former self never bothered with and this danged thing won't shut up over taking the girl that his brother has said to claim. Now he just has more complications when she asks him for answers about loving each other.
I'm going to be honest and say I just wanted the sex to come next...let their lips and hips do the talking, but you gave that danged youkai a conscience before getting the girl...
Oh well, now he's in a pickle! Yeah, he probably looks like a jumbo deli delight one too but there isn't anything he can do about that if she says she's changed her mind...duh! stupid man/youkai!!!!
But once they get the answers that satisfy her I was very pleased with the happenin's...yeah, until poor Sessh didn't think and went for the home run only to get...tears and Kagome saying TAKE IT OUT!!!! Not very romantic, but a very truthful response to being split in two! I was glad he was able to get her to relax just enough to finish because GrandPa would surely try to purify his manhood from his granddaughter.
I know I'm making jokes about this and forgive me but I do understand what you were trying to convey here. I just find Sessh getting a conscience when he wants to take her is just so sad for him. I'm used to him just taking and dealing with whats happens later because well, what Sesshoumaru wants, Sesshoumaru gets and keeps for as long as he sees fit, be danged with the consequences.
The whole chapter does make sense and it's fitting that Kagome would want to hear him tell her he knew her and loves her. He was kinda slick with his wording though. It got him the girl!!!
Love ya! JEN
I've tried to leave a review since yesterday but..today it works! Yay!
I'm glad you're updating. Im so curious what happen when inuyasha comeback. I like sesshomaru being selfish, he wanted kagome for himself, even for awhile. I hope kagome will forgive him for his selfishness. I hope to see you soon again..very soon i really hope. Sorry. Xoxo
Ohhhh the plot thickens, will this be a battle between wife blackmail or Inuyasha and his slimeball lowlife brother.... Mmmm
DivaG (Chapter 9) - Mon 29 Jun 2015
Nice chapter. Kagome wishes to know how exactly she fits in his life and she is right not wanting to jump in a relationship with all the uncertanties she is feeling. She needs answers and information about his life and the least he can do is give them to her thrutfully if he wishes to have a chance to win her love.
Marie (Chapter 9) - Mon 29 Jun 2015
This story is like a freaking juicy soap opera. Good lord, what happens next. When does she runeed into in Inuyasha? When will run figure out who she is.
I really am liking this story.
Aviva (Chapter 8) - Thu 25 Jun 2015
What a mess. Sesshomaru is really playing with fire here. I can't believe he did that. Wait, yes I can. When he wants something he goes after it with vengeance. I feel for him, he has an unhappy life because he did not believe that love was needed to be happy in a marriage. I can understand that his desire for offspring and the dwindling numbers of full inu demoness forced him to make that decision. However, he is exploiting Kagome's innocence and ignorance to feel better about his life even though he knew that it was not him she wanted. He is really cunning telling Kagome that his feelings for her has only grown stronger since the old days.
When Kagome memories return along with the arrival of Inuyasha I dread what is going to happen. So much drama brewing. Sesshomaru is such a bastard though, he thinks that seducing and wooing Kags for one month until his brother return will put him in Kagome's good graces. I think I understand where you are going with this plot but I won't say so now. I can tell he has feelings for her but it is nowhere near love. What he is feeling is lust and a deep attraction stemming from his brother's undying love and faith in Kagome. He is simply jealous and horny. I wished that I could have reviewed all the chapters, if only I had more time. Great story, I can't wait until you post again.
Aviva (Chapter 3) - Thu 25 Jun 2015
Tension! Tension! Both Kagome and Rin had a moment. I guess the red head's father is Shippo and Akane's father is Naraku...not convinced that it is Naraku though. Poor Kagome, filled with so much uncertainty about her past and have no way to ascertain the truths. I like the back story you gave for Rin's life. I believe Rin had simply forgotten Kagome. When Kags disappeared Rin was still a very young child.
Aviva (Chapter 2) - Thu 25 Jun 2015
So things have started to move along nicely. Its funny how we percieve each other when there is competition, so much hostility when really there is no need. I like that Kagome kept her cool even though she felt looked down upon and rejected. The summary of description in the chapter was quite detailed. I wonder if the grown up lady is little Rin from the past.
