Description:
The fight was over and Naraku was victorious. The sons of the great Dog General had been absorbed into the spider's body. Still, in a last ditch effort to rescue the two, Kagome strung her bow with her last arrow. As the glowing bolt sped towards its target, it carried her wish for the brothers to survive, as well as her entire store of holy power. The group would later argue that it was merely a fluke that her arrow found its mark and lodged in the completed jewel. As bits of demon essence swirled away from the crippled spider, a beacon of pink light enveloped the clearing. Once the shard-hunters blinked away the residual blindness, a ghastly scene was revealed. The two brothers had somehow been morphed into a single entity.

Hmm...I've not written fanfics in a while so I'd be out of touch. My advice would be maybe not take it so literal. Think of it like a mirror image thing. maybe have it like...they split the time of the day. The catch is that they're both aware during most of it no matter who's in control. And the twist (which would tie into what you are thinking) would be that the Inuyasha's mind/personality would have the Sesshomaru body...and the Sesshomaru mind/personality have Inuyasha's. All within the same body being split by different times of course. Imagine Sesshomaru as the half-breed he's put down so often.
The only place this story exists is in my warped imagination. I envisioned writing this some day; teaching Inu and Sess lessons about each other, and playing off their strengths and weaknesses. Each would control one half of the body. Inu would have to negotiate with Sess to go visit Kikyo. Sess would see the world from a whole new perspective, and of course, end up appreciating our futuristic miko's attributes. If anyone wants to co-write this little tale, let me know.
