tNow, my dear Moonlight, you may take a long, easy breath and be assured that you've finished a job very well done!!! I had a feeling that our Kagome wasn't going to just come back home knowing that her mate's still wife is alive and living somewhere on the grounds.
I couldn't believe that they stayed apart from each other all those years. That, to me, was a tradegy. They suffered the loss of each other's love and comfort and the children all suffered along with them not having their parents together and sharing thier lives as a whole family. Sometimes I wish Kagome would just allow herself to be happy, even if that meant she had to endure the princess's life under guard in solitude until the time was right to carry out her sentence.
Sesshoumaru proved to be such an amazingly strong and patient being. I was very impressed that he didn't have a meltdown sooner. I was also surprised that he didn't break the step mother's neck for what she said to him.
I was surprised by the way he killed the emperor. Using his dokkasou, to me, was risky. How many youkai or humans would have killed him with poison, breaking his jaw and killing his female only to set them up as if they were in a lover's embrace? I would think the human council would have had more to say in the way he was killed, but then I can imagine how many enemies the emperor had.
All in all, you've created a fic that I will read and re read many times over. You did an excellent job and though our duo went through many, many trials, they still ended up together and finally a family that will grow to see the future together. JEN
p.s. Just a small error that should be fixed as I made the same mistake in a review...Yuki renaming the dragonling should be, Aiko, as Yuki died when she went after her father to fight to regain the west and was killed by her "loving" grandmother.

While I can sympathize with Kagome, she often forgets the details of the time period she was actively living in, overlooked the fact that it was unfortunately the right decision for Sesshoumaru to make, and that he suffered greatly too (in addition to her children and herself). It just seems selfish that everyone involved had to suffer because she did not want to experience a political technicality. He had no emotional affair like she did and hated every second of it. (sigh) The situation sucked all around, I just don't see a reason to make the suffering more traumatic. I do give him props for not trying to force her to stay, that took a lot of control. And to maintain it for so long! Wasn't sure he had it in him to be without her for so long.
But, I'm glad that the story has reached it's end and that I didn't have to agonize over the ending for too long. Thanks for putting us out of our misery and for all the very hard work! It's a very intense emotional roller coaster that took a great deal of skill to write. You certainly have my admiration.

Kagome handled the trial like a true lady of the West, whereas Maemi remained unrepentant & arrogant until the very end. The trial went surprisingly smooth -- to be honest, I expected the emperor & his camp to be pulling all the stops to bail the princess, or throw accusations around, cause chaos etc, but I'd like to think Kagome's demonstration and the fact that she was the Shikon miko and older than the rest of the humans inside the court must've surprised them and their underhanded plans were quickly dismissed. Anyway, I'm glad that Maemi finally got what she deserves, but I kinda pity her because she was abandoned by everybody else. If only she followed Hotaru's advice...
Looking forward to the next. Great job and thank you for another wonderful chapter. I can't believe the next one is going to be the last. I jumped on this fic late and I wished I could've read this from the start. Anyway, congratulations!

Serves her right I feel no simpathy for her. So glad that she is going to get what''s coming to her. Time for the final chapter.
I still feel so much is unresolved. The princess is being rid of, yes...but Kagome and Sessh relationship still needs to be worked out. I am not yet convinced of a happily ever after. Anyway, kudos to the writer. It is not easy staging a train wreck. Onlookers know it is horrid but are too damn fascinated to look away. And that, my dears, is a metaphor. ;-)

I agree with you, it's not worth rush the ending of such an extraordinary story. Congratulations.

So sorry I wasn't able to get back to you again, my friend. RL has been such a problem and I have been extremely upset and unable to respond more indepth to the last chapter.
I was impressed with the trial and how Princess Maemi was just making a fool of herself over every little thing she didn't like hearing. Her seeing Kagome and lunging after her to kill her was priceless. Her little temper tantrums were the nails she created to close her own coffin. And WHEN will this woman ever learn that youkai can hear every little thing she murmurs under her breath.(considering they are within hearing range) Even her own council tried to stop her but she kept tighting her neck in the proverbial noose with each tantrum, angered action or words under her breath.
I had hoped for more from Kagome but having her powers felt by all, the demontration of creating an apple tree, and the proof of youkai who all knew she was in fact the Shikon Miko. I thought how funny that InuYasha was the inuhanyou she had traveled with and who aided in the killing of Naraku standing there, as well as Kouga and Sesshoumaru who had an actual hand in the killing of Naraku. Then also the members of the West's Youkai Council who fought with she and Sesshoumaru over the years to make peace between humans and youkai work out standing in her defense also.
Princess Maemi had NO other proof that she, herself was Sesshoumaru's first wife/mate when Kagome lifted her bangs to reveal the sign of Sesshoumaru's house and mate that can only be created through their mating/marriage, thus showing Kagome as first and Maemi as second by Kagome's acceptance so they could show good faith to the humans by following the Emperor's demands of a marriage to his sister.
I was also impressed with what Sesshoumaru had said to Maemi upon her leaving the room, "When digging graves, remember to dig two, or in this case three", which if anyone didn't get the meaning to this, it's an old Chinese proverb for he who seeks revenge to remember to to dig two graves, one for who you seek revenge upon and one for yourself.
Now, what I'm left to wonder wasn't quite finished here. The judgement was made and the ruling for death, but then the Judge gave Sesshoumaru the right to deal with this "matter" as he sees fit. At first I thought that the trial was over since he went out to Kagome for a little "funtime". But then I thought back to the judgement... You aren't quite finished yet are you?!?!?
Ohhh, I just can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. I'm on the edge of my seat now.(well, bed, really, lol) JEN

I luv it! She's proven guilty and Sesshomaru and Kagome are free to be together. Am so glad everything is falling into place. Anxiously awaiting the reolution with the Emporer and the treaty. Keep it up! You're a very gifted writer and I look forward to reading more stories from you!

Halcali (Chapter 111) - Tue 22 Jul 2014
Wonderful chapter. It's always interesting to read Sesshoumaru's POV. It answered a lot of questions and I'm glad that he learned the lessons he needed to learn about love, freedom and sacrifice.
I'm happy that they're finally mated again! Sesshoumaru certainly didn't waste any time reclaiming his mate, lol.
Looking forward to the next chapter! You did a great job. I really didn't see Sesshoumaru reviving the dragon kid but it was a pleasant surprise. Really shows how Kagome influenced him positively.
